With tables perched onthe edge of the steep hill this is classic St Emilion, go for a table outside on the terrace if you can though avoid high heels for the walk down to it! Food is classically french cuisine served well and the wine list as you would expect is fantastic.

Wonderful dinner from the fixed-price menu which was a good value at an excellent restaurant. The only downside was very slow service for the last course. Waited about a half hour to get dessert and had to pour our own wine since waiter rarely came by our outdoor table during the latter half of the meal.

The meal was good, specially the entree. The restaurant is ok.
No really kid friendly, although the said did accept kids. Better places to eat in St. Emilion

This was our third visit to this restaurant and the food was up to the usual standards, although the Rack of Lamb was a little bizarre or a high end restaurant, more like spare ribs with the length of bones protruding and the need to use your fingers.
The service was good but the biggest gripe was the space between the tables - one slip up stripping the meat from the Lamb bones and our neighbours would have had it in their laps!
I realise this is a quaint small restaurant but they had crammed one too many tables in the night we were there.
With the competition hotting up in St Emilion for good restaurants I think Le Tertre needs to reconsider the wider experience they are giving their customers, beyond just expensive food and wine.

We had a wonderful dinner at Le Tertre when we visited the quaint town of St Emilion in April. The owner, Jean Claude and his wife, were so welcoming and friendly. It was evident by his attention to every detail that Jean Claude loved his work. Although he gave us plenty of privacy, he was also willing to have delightful conversation with us as time allowed (in English). The service was excellent. Both my husband and I enjoyed everything we ordered and the atmosphere was wonderful. Thank you Jean Claude for lovely evening and the menu!!
