“Beautiful and relaxed”

I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Punta del Diablo. The hostel has a great atmosphere and the staff is extremely nice and fun. We stayed there for 5 nights, and unfortunately had a 3-day long storm, so we couldn't enjoy the beach, but we still had the best time at the hostel.
The breakfast does not have a lot of options, but the bread is the best. The dorms are standard, comfortable and are always kept clean. They also have a couple of double rooms with a small balcony, in case you prefer something more private.
We are definitely going back!

El Diablo Tranquilo is a really good hostel in an amazing town! The rooms are clean enough and it's good value for money. The location was perfect, less than five minutes walk to the beach. The hostel has great communal areas (a nice balcony next to the kitchen, a couple of free computers, couches, and hammocks and tables outside). Also the staff were terrific - super helpful with organising buses and activities (the sunset horse-riding tour was expensive, $40 US, but definitely worth it). Strongly recommended!

Room Tip: The private rooms on the upper floor were the best ones. The dorms were good value, too.

I stayed in the El Tranquillo Suites with my boyfriend, and we had splashed out for the superior ocean view double suite. We arrived at night time and were shown to our room, which we were very happy with as it had a small terrace and a fantastic view right on to the beach. I'm surprised to read other reviewers' comments about the amazing hospitality as we found the service to be terrible which took from the overall experience. Given that we were paying hotel prices, the room wasn't cleaned once over our three night stay, the shower was blocked and flooding, the tap on the sink was broken, and the view of the sea was spoiled by the dirty windows. We had to ask for toilet paper and glasses on the first night as these weren't provided. The glasses we did receive were dirty and we had to wash them ourselves before using. The "breakfast" consisted of a few slices of bread and a plate of decaying fruit sitting our on a counter top, swarming with flies, and dirty coffee cups. Both the Argentinean and American girls who were working on the mornings we had breakfast were incredibly rude, and not once did a staff member ask us how our stay was or if there was anything they could do, even on check out. The place has great potential but it sadly is not being realised. The location deserves better.

The place is nice. Clean. Enough people / entertainment but I only stayed 1 night and then changed. The cost of the hostel is ridiculously high compared to what else is around in PdD (even over the Easter Break/Semana Santa).
And I have to agree with previous posts regarding the staff. Out of the 4 staff 1 had contact with, only 1 was helpful and tried to assist with questions - unfortunately this was when I was checking out. The others couldnt even recommend somewhere to find food in town and only suggested I eat in the hostel with the dinner they were making because he said he didnt know anywhere else.
If you`re after the standard backpackers coming through, then this is great. If you want something with a bit of culture and a bit more Uruguayo, then there are some really great places elsewhere that offer the same things but at a fraction of the price and for me, a better experience.

If you are going to punto Diablo this is the place. No brainer. The dorms could do with a window or light but the overall space is great. I recommend the horse ride across the national park. Fabio Is great at relaxing even the most nervous rider. Galloping along the beach to crashing surf.... It's good. Staff good, helpful. Food service ok, lots of bread and fruit for breakfast.

The whole place has a really good atmosphere. The staff gives the best of them in order you to have a very nice experience. It's located near the city center and very close to the beach. I would definitely go back!

I stayed several days at El Diablo with some friends. We had a wonderfull time with the greatest view you can imagine. Relaxing was the most important thing for us but there are a lot of activities to do if you want like horse riding and surfing. The staff provides you everyday of a great breakfast with fresh fruits. They were very helpfull and friendly. The accomodation is not the best but very good enough for a wonderfull time. We would really recommend this place if you like the beach, the view and the relaxed atmosphere. Greetings. R. Hoogland
