Beautiful, relaxing, nature all around, would stay there again for sure! The location was great. Food was great. Boat rides were fun, fishing, bird watching and the nature walks were amazing. The weather was great. I wouldn’t have changed a thing except spend more time there. Bugs weren’t really much of a bother- if you spray yourself as instructed by the staff.

If you're looking to learn about nature, meet people from an amazing culture and live like a colonial pioneer, this is the trip for you. Far from "roughing it" this lodge was well designed and perfectly maintained. The food is amazing. Our guides we very knowledgeable. It ended up being the highlight of our trip, even over Macchu Picchu!

Our stay at the lodge was one of the highlights of our trip. It was an amazing experience which was enhanced by the passion and enthusiasm of our tour guide Evo. The service was great and it was good to know that the lodge respected its environment and tried to minimize its impact on the rainforest. The layout of the lodge was really good because it really made us feel in touch with rainforest but was also very relaxing and comfortable environment. Another great point was that the lodge worked alongside the community and gave back to the people living in the surrounding areas. The best thing would have to be the various wildlife we got to get up and close too. Amazing

We stayed at the Posada Amazonas in January 2010 with our three children, ages 15, 11, and 7. It was certainly the most memorable adventure we have been on yet! I was particularly worried about the accomodations, as I am not the "outdoorsy" type of gal, but I found the lodge to be very comfortable and mostly bug-free!!! Except at night...stay in your bug net !!! The staff was amazing, the food was good, the rooms were clean. It was exceptional. We were able to see several monkey families, giant river otters, several different types of birds and insects, camen, and more! Our guide, Jorge, was knowledgable and friendly. He has a place in our hearts forever. If you have any doubts about travelling to Peru, you can put your fears to rest. Our stay at Posada came at the end of a 16 journey across Peru with our children and we found the country to be absolutely delightful, educational, friendly, and truly an adventure. We are already making plans to return!

Visited while on an organised tour in Peru with my partner.
We took a bus then a boat along the river to reach the lodge.
Rooms: comfy beds, no electricity, cold showers, clean. One wall of the room is completely open to the rainforest. Mozzi netson every bed.
Excursions: Start really early because it gets so hot in the middle of the day. We went fishing for piranas and looking for river otters. Saw monkeys, and amazing birds and butterflies. Our guide was very knowedgeable.
Food: International cuisine to satisfy the various visitors, trafitional food would have been good but it's probably easier to keep the masses happy.

Your in the rainforest, it's HOT, it's very very HOT. And the humidity is very high, there's a reason they give you time for an afternoon nap (it's just too hot to do anything else)
There is no air con or fans, this doesn't bother me but it may bother you. The showers are cold, this did not bother me at all it made showers quick and refreshing.
For me waking to the sound of monkeys and seeing them just meters away is worth a bit of heat.

I'd love to return one day, maybe go further to the research centre.
