“One of our top experiences of a six week adventure”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

Our family of 4 stayed at Posada for three nights in January . It was an excellent experience, with a perfect balance of varied activities and downtime. The staff were attentive and Rodolfo, our guide, had a great knowledge of the area; able to coax Tarantulas out of holes, and to teach us how to catch Piranha and climb vines. We were blessed with seeing heaps of wildlife including a baby Armadillo, a Tree Snake, heaps of cheeky Monkeys, Macaws, and a lot of super sized insects and not to forget, the Otter family.
The weather was just what I'd expect for the location - hot and muddy, but we had the 'gumboot confidence' able to slosh through any puddle. It all just added to the experience and created some amazing memories.
The food was tasty and plentiful and served as a buffet in a shared dining room.
I love the accommodation, it enhanced the Amazon experience; open walled rooms, comfortable beds, mosquito nets, no power, kerosene lamps and candles.
Put this one on your 'bucket list'.

Visiting a rainforest, sleeping in a room open to the canopy of the rainforest, seeing the animals in their natural habitats, all an amazing experience!
The guides are all very pleasant and passionate about the rainforest and Eco system...especially our guide Inez. She was awesome and if she can't spot a bird, monkey or spider... No one can!
She made our 3 days exceptionally worthwhile.
The food was good and plentiful.
Tips: take lots of socks, foot spray/powder, and rain gear that is as cool as possible. Also they have a recharging station for laptops and cameras that the generator supports a couple times a day... We didn't take our camera recharging cords with us as we didn't realize we'd have any electricity... That was a regret!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Posada Amazonas. Accommodation was wonderful. Going to sleep at night listening to the sounds of the animals was quite nice. Saying that, we heard a lot of animals but did not actually see many. Food was simple but very nice. Staff were very friendly and very knowledgeable.

Posada Amazonas was a perfect mix of nature and comfort, with thoughtfully designed rooms, public spaces, ever-present fresh clean drinking water, rubber boots and other systems to keep people safe, terrific guides well-connected in with the local indigenous communities, a beautiful eco-system easily accessible. Just far enough away to make it feel remote, but close enough to be easy to get in an out.

Great time in a great place.
All staff are extremely helpful. Our guide Louis was always making sure we were ok and helped make our stay more enjoyable.
The lodge is in such a wild place but you feel very safe. Great escape from the hectic Peru itinerary.

Silverio is one of the finest guides you will ever have, no matter where in the world you travel. His knowledge of native species and the Wildlife Refuge trails are excellent and his English skills are top-notch. His sense of wonderment is surprisingly intact after many years of guiding and it was fun to discover new varieties of insects and snails with him. He patiently answered our group of 12's many questions and put up with our chattiness, but made sure we knew where to be and when for our many outings.
The lodge itself is nicely laid out and maintained. We were there in the rainy season but had more sun than we bargained for, so the cool showers were inviting rather than bracing. We treated our long sleeved clothing with Sawyers' spray before visiting the lodge and used citronella insect spray on our wrists & necks--I never got a bite in 3 1/2 days. Not to worry about the absent 4th wall-- we weren't bothered by anything reptilian or mammalian either, although we did notice a bat in the rafters one day. The mosquito netting affords some nighttime protection-- from one's own anxieties, mostly.
Food is simple, wholesome & delicious and the bar convivial. I did not miss my electrically powered devices. The guided walks & boat outings are so varied I could have stayed much longer and never been bored. Enjoy the good service and exceptional ambience--you will never forget it.

From the minute I got off the plane, to the moment I got back on it, they were amazing! As soon as we got off te plane, our personal guide (for the whole stay) was there to greet us. Throughout the transfer we were constantly given interesting information about the jungle, resort and the local community. Once there I was blown away. To see such an amazing resort hidden in the jungle and such attentive staff was mind blowing. Everyone was so friendly and more than accommodating. Rooms were extremely comfortable (even with no electricity) and still gave the feeling you were part of your surroundings. Our guide William was an absolute joy to be around. He had an amazing knowledge of the jungle and a sense of humour to match. Not only did he fill us with knowledge and know where to find animals for pictures, but kept us entertained throughout the whole stay. Overall I cannot fault them. This was an unforgettable experience and would do it again in a heart beat! Everyone should help support this great resort and the local community.
