Three of us stayed for a night with Wendy and Roland, breaking a family journey from Castro up to Santiago. The accommodation was very comfortable and pleasant, located in extremely nice surroundings - although not far from the main north/south artery road. We had a really nice evening meal with Wendy and Roland, swapping endless life stories. Eventually we slumped off to bed and had a great night's sleep. We left the next morning after a really nice breakfast and an exploratory walk around their massive plot - on which they seem to have managed to become almost self sufficient.

It was a great place to relax and we all wished we had been able to stay longer.

We spent a night with Wendy and Roland while working slowing working our way from the Los Lagos region to the wine regions south of Santiago. We arrived late afternoon and spent time relaxing and exploring the property. It is set along side a small river with gardens and flowers.

Do make sure to eat dinner there! They grow most of their own produce and procure meat and eggs locally. Wendy was a private chef on yachts for years and created one of the best meals we had in Chile. A fresh tomato/pepper soup with eggplant spread over toast points, grilled chicken skewers with a cucumber sauce with rice, and a delicious raspberry cake.

Breakfast was similar to the better places we stayed. Excellent cheese, sliced meat, more freshly picked raspberries, yogurt, and a boiled egg to order. There was cereal/granola available as well. Also home made jam! Wendy had spend the prior afternoon making jam and canning up vegetables from their gigantic garden.

The rooms are basic, but comfortable. The hot water in the shower also stayed warm the entire time, which wasn't the case everywhere we stayed! We were there in late summer/early autumn and there is a radiator in the room which was nice. I'd definitely stay here again. Stay if you're making your way between Santiago and the south and enjoy a fine dinner or stay a few days and explore the area.

The wifi worked well in the salon/living room area and on the patios near the main house. It worked well and allowed me to catch up.

Room Tip: We were given a choice of two rooms. They seemed similar.

Thank you, Ronald and Wendy, for giving us one of the best nights of our trip. First they served us an incredibly tasty dinner, made from home grown veggies. Then, they joined us on the deck and we chatted the evening and part of the night away. Both of them have already had a fascinating life and are now settling down in what looked like the Garden of Eden to me. The estate is pretty huge, complete with orchard, a river flowing through and a bunch of cats having the time of their lives. I wish we would've had more time to explore the domain.
Breakfast was great too, and Wendy even made us a lunch box.
Our room was small, granted, but they are planning a complete make-over of the place they recently acquired, to offer more comfort to their guests. I wish them all the luck they need; they're already doing a fantastic job. If, some day, we're back in the neighborhood, we will moste definitely return to this incredibly welcoming residencial.

My wife and I stayed at El Rincon for one night as we travelled south along the Pan American Highway in February 2014. Our stay was outstanding in all respects. El Rincon is in a superb natural setting amongst trees and alongside flowing water. Our cosy cabin had rustic charm and was very quiet and comfortable. Above all, our hosts Roland and Wendy provided exceptional hospitality including a memorable 3-course dinner incorporating vegetables and fruit from their own garden. Chatting with Wendy and Roland was a highlight of our all too brief stay. We especially appreciated their expert advice about local attractions and as a result we enjoyed a great side trip to Parque Nacional Nahuelbuta to see spectacular Araucaria Araucana trees in their natural habitat. Thank you Roland and Wendy for a wonderful stay - we intend to return for longer next time!

Room Tip: All cabins are great.

We have recently spent a night at El Rincon and had an enjoyable experience. Wendy and Roland are great hosts and make sure that guests are as comfortable as possible. They have recently taken over El Rincon and are gradually making their own mark on the place which had deteriorated over the years and for which they have plans to upgrade. The accommodation at the moment is quite basic although the bathrooms have been given a makeover and have bright new fixtures and fittings. Wendy is a super cook and the dinner that she prepared for us was absolutely delicious, using mostly their own produce and locally sourced meat. Breakfast was nothing special, somehow, after dinner, we had expected more.

Apart from relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet of the woods, there is not much to do at El Rincon, but it is certainly a pleasant place to take a break.

My wife and I stayed at El Rincon for four nights in mid February 2014 and had and amazing time. It's a beautiful and quiet property surrounded by trees with a nice big garden and a few streams running throughout. A lot of people only stay one night because it's a good halfway point between Santiago and the Lagos region but I would recommend staying a little longer to relax and unwind. It's a great place to meet other travelers and get to know the owners, Wendy and Roland. And make sure you have at least one dinner there because Wendy is an excellent cook and uses fresh ingredients from their garden. We'll definitely be back!

Small B&B, located right next to the road but inside of the forest. It was very relaxing to stay there, to hear the river when you sleep. the owners are so kind, and as you eat with the other guests in one table you can interact with them. You can find from a couple of chileans to european people travelling around chile.
