We spent 4 days in Copiapo on business. We ate at a few local restaurants which were okay at best. On our last night, we were taken to Legado, El Restaurante de la Mineria for a bit of a celebration. I'm not sure how we got there as the taxi wove in and out of different side streets. The restaurant entrance was on a dimly lit corner and I didn't quite know what to expect. Upon entering, however, the greetings, nice decor and warmth of the interior made it plain that we were in for an outstanding affair. Chef Luis Carter was simply superb in catering to our group of over 20 people. The fare is mainly meat-centric, focusing on steak cuts and seafood, but we had vegetarians in our party and they were prepared delicious dishes. There were many exotic menu choices as well. The wine list was impressive and they also have a full bar with all the required spirits and a list of specialty drinks. I will definitely return if I ever get back to Copiapo.
