I believe that in a near future Gamboa will be the place for living here with quality of life. In Morro everything is double price compared to Gamboa. And the nature is becoming dirty because of us. The Fountain of Water of Morro de São Paulo, important 300 hundred years as the principal fountain of water of Bahia, now is a drain. But the begining of the dirty lake is a STILL CLEAN inicial lake, on the TOP OF THE ISLAND. THAT'S THE MEANING OF TINHARÉA, WATER OF THE TOP...

We really liked this beach. Relaxed with an autentic feel too it. Good seafood. Walk from Morro at low tide and get the ferry back, really easy. Just make sure you check the times of the ferry, the locals keep claiming that it goes all day all the time but this is a slight exaggeration.

Forget beach 1,2,3 etc and take a walk to Gamboa Beach. When we visited there were 10 umbrellas from two restaurant with good food from an italian lady with her brazilian husband. Sometimes a tourist boat stops for one hour and you can get on the boat back to the village centre with is 30 minutes by foot only on low tight.

This beach is the perfect alternative if you want to be away from the noise and just enjoy the warm waters of the ocean. The only ¨but¨ is that the food is not very cheap. Highly recommended.
