“Why would you ever deep-fry sausage?”
Reviewed August 31, 2012

Not a bad breakfast, but when we asked to make the sausage links a little more well-done by putting them back on the grill, we were told they didn't grill the links...they deep-fried them. Really? Seriously? And they tasted like old oil. Other than that the home fried potatos were excellent and the eggs were cooked well.

“The breakfast that never was”
Reviewed July 11, 2012

My husband and I wandered into this restaurant on July 4 for breakfast after learning that Jimmy's Kitchen had a long wait. We were seated right away, and were impressed with the breakfast menu. After placing our order, we waited and waited for our food to arrive. I started to realize that no food had come out of the kitchen for over 10 minutes, and we saw our waitress go over to two other tables and apologize for their wait. At this point, the restaurant was full, and no one had a plate of food in front of them. I asked another waitress if there was a problem in the kitchen, and she sent our server over to us. She told us that the holiday cook had taken the day off. I suggested that one of the waitresses go back and start cooking, to which she replied that there were already 3 people in the kitchen cooking, and there was no room for anyone else to help. She said that there were two tables ahead of us, and that we could leave if we wanted to, but by the time we drove to another restaurant and ordered, we'd probably be better off staying and waiting some more. We left and made ourselves breakfast. I am still wondering how 3 people cooking simultaneously could not get breakfast on the table for these customers. It's breakfast, people, eggs and pancakes! It's not rocket science! We won't be back.

“Memorial Day weekend-understaffed and not prepared”
Reviewed May 31, 2012

Maybe this was a rough time for them, they did not have adequate staff in the dining area or the kitchen. It was a long wait for some to just be seated for a mid morning meal. This is a clean restaurant that had a really rough time keeping up. We waited forever-at least least 20 min for them to take our drink order, we gave them the food order at the same time, hoping to speed things up, no way was that happening. One drink arrived 15 min later, the meal never came after an hour of waiting, we just plain up and left, sorry. We were hungry and patient long enough. Maybe they are better prepared on slower days. For the people who did get their food, it did look well presented. But, if they wanted anything more to make the meal complete, such as sugar free syrup, there was again another long wait.

“DEFINITELY Dirty Harry's!”
Reviewed April 15, 2012

Dirty Harry's Restaurant and Bakery was a wonderful place to end up after not being able to find parking at two other Fenwick Island eateries, namely, Nantuckets and Mancini's. Our waitress, Ellen, was friendly and engaging with a great sense of humor and the decor gave the feel of a small town restaurant the locals frequent. Two groups of adults were quietly playing cards at different tables, which seemed a little out of place, but added to the atmosphere.

I had baked scallops with stewed tomatoes and asparagus. The scallops were tender and lightly seasoned, the stewed tomatoes were steaming and tasty and the asparagus slightly crunchy and also seasoned well. Another thing I liked was that the portions were smaller than what most restaurants would probably serve, therefore not leaving me too full.

I didn't have any of their baked goodies for dessert but that will be for another visit, as well as breakfast which I understand is very popular. All in all a satisfying meal in a nice setting with friendly service.
