Description: Notably the last restaurant on Coastal Highway in Fenwick Island, Delaware before entering Ocean City, Maryland, Delaware may have saved the best for last. The award winning Fenwick Crabhouse has been an icon in the resort for almost 50 years. Though being named a "favorite seafood dive in the US" for an unprecedented fourth straight year by Coastal Living Magazine, the Fenwick Crabhouse is hardly a dive. While the atmosphere is casual, they have an appealing menu of carefully prepared meals catering to a variety of tastes. You will find great wines, craft beers, their hallmark "The Perfect Crab cake" (NY Times), Delaware Magazine's 2011 "Best Ribs," and of course, those wonderful steamed crabs. Their mission is to provide a unique blend of creatively prepared dishes using fresh, locally grown foods and award-winning beverages to the table. The Fenwick Crabhouse is a seasonal restaurant off-season hours change before Memorial Day and after Labor Day. Call for hours.

“Awesomely yummy!”

We had a great meal that pleased the whole family. Crab cakes, fried chicken, ribs, shrimp. Service great. Only complaints...loud, cold, big Coke sign, only Pepsi products.

“Smooshy gray crabs at the beach!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2013

I cannot rate any other food item as I was pumped to compare crabs in northern OC and that I did. The pile of twice steamed crabs, who knew how long ago they were first cooked, gave off a slight rotten odor. When I opened them the sweet yellow mustard and clumps of firm crab were nowhere to be found. Instead the meat was gray and squishy. I went through a few hoping to find one fresh but to no avail. I commented to the inept waitress who confirmed my twice steamed suspicion. I paid too much and left wanting to wipe the rotting corpse taste from my tongue with a Lysol wipe. Try anything but DON'T go for the crabs.

“Nothing Special”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 4, 2013

Other reviewers seem to like the crab cakes here. I have to assume I hit the Crabhouse on a bad night or that the other reviewers have never had a good crab cake. The boiled crab cake was small, overly wet, and bland. The crab dinner (not the all you can eat) featured 4 small (#2s) crabs that had a muddy after taste.
On the other hand, the crab soup was excellent and the Tuna Bites were good. Anna, our server, was friendly and attentive.

“Crabs and crab legs are great here”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2013 via mobile

We hit this restaurant at least once a trip. The crab legs were perfect and plentiful. I got 1/2 dozen regular hard shell crabs for lunch and they were great too. The crab cakes have very little filler. Make sure you get a side of corn on the cob. It is sweet and succulent Soft shell crabs are good too here

“Seriously good crab cakes”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 16, 2013

As someone who eats more than his share, I know from crab cakes. Trust me when I say that Fenwick Crabhouse version are right up there among the very best. And the blackened scallops, also not to be missed,
