Sergio's jeep tour was the highlight and most memorable part of our whole vacation! Family of 4, scheduled 4 hours, but Sergio was able to take us for an extra half-hour. We spent a little longer swimming at the Natural pool and so that extra half hour was needed so that we could see all of the major highlights of the island. We got to see the caves, swim in the natural pool, got great pictures of the land bridge, the lighthouse, the gold mine, saw scenic views, it was great!
The jeep was enclosed and air-conditioned. Water, iced tea, soda provided. Sergio was very knowledgeable and informative. He's a really good guy, and we enjoyed the day with him. We learned a lot about Aruban culture and history, and about their political parties (election was nearing, lots of political party flags up), and all of the cacti and the divi-divi tree, and the climate, etc. He knew where the best picture spots were, and when to take us to the sites so that we weren't in a huge crowd of tourists. The rural parts of Aruba necessitate a jeep because the "roads" are more like off-road trails up and down scary steep inclines with huge volcanic rocks that bounce the jeep around. However, Sergio is a very good and safe driver, and so we never felt in danger. Very glad we got a professional to take us to the Natural Pool as it would be treacherous if you were driving the trail for the first time in a Jeep, and basically impossible if you were in any type of car or even a crossover vehicle.
Also, many of the places we saw require one to be fairly functional and active, for example the natural pool is 90 steps down and not very easy for very young or elderly to get to. Bring good shoes for hiking. Wear swimsuits under your clothes, bring towels and even a mask/snorkel and an underwater camera for the natural pool.
Would say this tour is a "must do" and definitely request Sergio.
Thanks, Sergio!
