“VERY NICE EXPERIENCE”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

Our last review of this place seems to have caused a bit of a stir amongst those who do not share our opinion of this place, Nonetheless, we find that the majority of reviews do agree with us and we are pleased to see that. ANNA MARIA'S continues to be a unique dining experience that is quite pleasurable and satisfying. Though we continue to regard it as one of the better ITALIAN eateries in ARUBA, this year we have found some credible competition that may join it as being amongst the better Italian venues. That would not diminish our opinion of this place but it may provide an alternative to those that do not appreciate the leisurely approach that Anna Maria's provides.

Many of those who oppose Anna Maria's seem to have some type of issue with the owner and his aggressive rebuttals to some criticisms. What they appear to regard as arrogance or nastiness, we tend to view as the passion and concern that the owners have for the place. It is the same type of attitude that abounds at the Hostaria d'Vittorio and it justifiably exists - it is a reflection of the striving to maintain the highest of standards. Another way of thinking about it is that if you are good at what you do then you are entitled to show it. There is nothing wrong with that and those who take offense to it simply are thin skinned.

ANNA MARIA'S continues to be a wonderful dining experience and it is one that we recommend to all. Remember to make reservations and remember to plan on a long, leisurely, and enjoyable evening.

“Not sure what all the talk is about?”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

After trying a few times to dine here, we finally made it. Wish we had given up. Under whelming to say the least. Not sure what we were served, but it certainly wasn't Grouper. Linguini and clams were good, but how can you mess that up. Inflexible, simply wanting to share two entrees cost $5.00? Wait staff nothing to speak of - Jean Pierre. Do not recommend.

“Best Italian Food”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

The best Italian food on the Island. The ambiance is great. The personal service is fantastic. Highly recommend this restaurant while you are on the beautiful Island of Aruba. It's a little out of the way, but well worth it. We have gone several times and each time we have not been disappointed.

“Real Italian in Aruba!!”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

A couple we met at the Marriot Surf Club recommended Anna-Maria's. I never take recommendations on Italian unless it is from someone in Boston, Providence, New York or San Francisco. Luckily our couple were Boston College alums and we tood their suggestion.

Funny start as the taxi cab driver drops us off in front of the residence that serves as the restaurant. He waited while one of the two waiters came out the front door to let us through the gate. A short walk around to the back revealed 10-12 tables set for dinner, flowers, and a fountain. We were only the second set of diners and were told the table was on for the evening. We had been told the meal could take some time because everything is cooked to order. Our entire experience only took 90 unrushed minutes.

Our party of four ordered cocktails (2), 2 glasses of a simple cabernet, fried calimari shared by two, and two caprese salads. For dinner we enjoyed the absolute best lasagna I have ever tasted, an excellent dish of crepes stuffed with cheese and spinach and a shrimp and spaghetti dish which my wifre devoured. We also order a bottle of the same cabernet with dinner. I was asked by our waiter if I liked eggplant and replied I did. He had the chef add an ultra thin slice of eggplant to the lasagna which meshed perfectly with the pasta, meat, and melt in your mouth cheese inside.

Everyting was perfect. The service was just attentive enough. My partners were too stuffed to order desert or cappachino so I can't comment on those but hope to when we go again on our next Aruba trip.

The bill for appetizers, cocktains, wine (galsses and bottle) and 4 entrees was $250 before tip. This meal in Providence would have been north of $300+.

Finally, at the end of our meal our waitewr called us a cab and waited and chatted with us out front until the cab arrived.

Anna-Marie's will be a regular stop on our future trips.
