“wonderful food; wonderful view”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2014

I had been to La Trattoria once before and took my friend to enjoy the food and views in April. We were celebrating a birthday and had a wonderful table. The service and quality of food were amazing! Nothing can beat the sunset but having quality service and delicious food made the night more enjoyable and memorable. I will be back in July when I am in Aruba again for sure!!!

“Beautiful View. Disappointing service and food”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2014

We have been coming to Aruba for a family vacation for over 8 years. This was our first visit to La Trattoria, fearing that it would be a tourist trap. Sadly, our experience confirmed this suspicion. The beauty and view of this restaurant is undeniable, However, our service was slow and un coordinated (we were seated for dinner at 5:30 and waited over 20m between our appetizers and main, and another 20m between we were even offered dessert menus). The food was really really average. Which would not have mattered so much if the prices were reasonable. $30 for a plate of packaged pasta (aka not from scratch) with a basic tomato sauce and gummy calamari? Octopus appetizer consisted of tiny baby octupus overcooked and served in a tomato soup. Chicken parmigiana was simple a breaded chicken breast covered in sauce and melted cheese. If you are going to market yourself as an authentic Italian restaurant, then at least DO THE FOOD WELL.

If you must go to La Trattoria, go for a drink and the view, but dine elsewhere. There are LOADS of places in Aruba where the food matches the view.

“Spectacular view, shockingly disappointing and overpriced food”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 28, 2014

The view is breathtaking. The bill also took our breath away because we were charged so much for food that was nearly inedible. The chef apparently emptied his salt shaker over our dishes. The waiter never returned to inquire about our satisfaction. I left nearly all my meal and left it on the table when the waiter wrapped it for me. What a disappointment. $30 for a plate of pasta which was truly awful.

“The View is worth The trip at Sunset. The food not so much...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 28, 2014

VIEW Loved the spectacular view of the island and the ambiance of the restaurant. We made a reservation months ahead so we could go at sunset and were pleased that we got a great table.

SERVICE:our waiter never gave us his name and didn't go over any items on the menu. He was borderline unfriendly. Other waiters filled our wine and we had to wait a long time to order. The menus are tacky as the names of entrees they don't serve anymore have been covered with white out --- new pages shouldn't be that expensive. The manager did take our picture which was great.

FOOD: My fiancé and I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana. We thought this was a safe option as multiple entrees included octopus or mussels. The food quality is not what I would have expected from a high end Italian Restaurant. The chicken was rubbery. It seemed like there were many repeat visitors there so it could have been that we didn't pick the right entree. If we go back it would be for cocktails only.
