“Interesting little place that may be overlooked”
Reviewed August 16, 2013

For authentic Aruban food try this place! It's on the way towards Buccaneer and Papiamento. Nothing fancy, but good food. The night we were there they had iguana soup-a very tasty vegetable soup, but watch the bones! Best keshi yena we've had in many years and a nice preparation of the catch of the day. Served with traditional pan boti with onion and vinegar sauce, funghi, and some fresh veggies. We would go back on the next visit.

“A Taste Of Local Cuisine”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

Located off the main roads but definitely worth the effort to fine this very nice restaurant tucked away in a residential area. They feature local disks that gives you a real taste of Aruban food situated in an old style Cunucu home. If possible try to arrange for seatng outdoors where you can look at the garden and enjoy the gentle music of the live entrainment which is soothing and soft enough to easily allow for conversation. Their speciality is Keeshi Yena, a sort of pulled chicken disk. Prices are reasonable, can to about $100 for 3 people with wine. Service is a bit slow so good with time to relax and enjoy the entire evening.

“Aruba dinning experience”
Reviewed August 10, 2013

The Old Cunucu House restaurant is over 150 years old. The outside area has dinning and a full undercover bar with lights all around. The nights in Aruba are delightful, no humidity and always a breeze, make for a lovely outside dinning experiance. You can hear the local birds and roosters. They have a hanging bird water feeder( sugar water), the yellow birds, also called sugar birds are numerous. Wonderful to watch and hear. The inside is quaint with local art work on the walls. The service was superior. We went there twice. The first night my husband had the goat stew and it was delicious. Very moist, lots of vegetables and the meat was tender. I had the speciality of the house which was a casserole dish with chicken, vegetables and cheese. I could not bellieve the amount of chicken in the dish. Mouth watering. Our second night we brought yellow finn tuna that we had caught that day. It was cooked two differrent ways, Arubian style with tomatoe, onions, peppers etc. The other was with a white wine sauce, both were pan fried. Also the head waiter made suchi for us.
I can not say enough, just try and you will be pleased.

“cute”

Little out of the way place. Food was good and staff eager to please and make recommendations.
Bit pricey for lunch and a little off the beaten path.

“A taste of exotic Aruban cuisine”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

Very well recommended by the hotel staff, the Old Cunucu House is literally an old house converted to a full dine-in restaurant. They offer great food choices for the whole family that can satisfy any cravings - from appetizer to desert. They also have a wide selection of cocktails and drinks from their "patio" bar. A must for every island visitor to try.
