“Beautiful view and a relaxing Hotel”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

If you are visitng kuwait, then be warned where to book your hotel. If you are intersted in not using public transport so much because of the way people drive (not as bad as eygpt, but not as good as London) you should choose a hotel like the marina, where you have it all. Shooping mall across the hotel, resturants, shisha, and the nice view overlooking the Gulf. Swimming, hhmmm I would not recommend swimming in this region of the city because I have a belief that the it is not yet ready for swimming becuae of the very heavy trafic of ships and previous oil spillages and etc.. The swimming pool is very nice and can be enough, and the children pool is nice if you go when its not busy. The most wonderful thing about the hotel is the breath taking location. It is near by many places if you like to walk on foot,if however you are not interested in walking it is still near by everything in Kuwait. Sultan center is close by, the known shopping malls are very close and the marina which offers evertyhing from Cinemas to caffees, etc.. Boat trip are close by as well and the sceintific center is close by. The hotel interior is very nice and in a secluded area, the reception is comfy and the overall design is nice. The Rooms well are big and spacious with a balcony overlooking either the pool or the beach. I do not believe the design will give you a street view, no way. The room has alll what you need in terms of AC, and lighting but make sure things work as this hotel is always occupied and things are consumed heavily.
The Bed is a king size and beautifull, but the edges of the side tables are sharp so be careful. The floor is not carpeted and as a result some people like it and others dont because of the ecco it generates. Nevertheless it is nice. The wardrobe big and cosy for you to even stand in, you have a safety Box, a desk where all business needs are provided and Intenet (wifi) is nice at the hotel. The Toilet is huge and really nice where you have a walk in shower and a bathtub as well. The mirrors, shampos, toiletries are all fine, but as I said make sure you check everything as the many times i stayed there some times the sink was not dairning water but luckily you have 2 in the room. As I said the hotel is used heavily and Maintenance are not upto the Task it seems but dont let that defer you from the location and the view. The resturant is nice and I have visited 2 of them and tried the room service and I have to say they did surprise me at times of the level of food quality. It was wonderful. The hotel has a fitness room but it is small and maybe it will not be as some would like but you have the outside activities in the shape of beach volleyball and football. Tabe Tennis is there and other activities which I have nt tried. I stayed in the hotel for 2 reasons and that is why I will go back again and again, the location, the relaxing view and the feeling that you are not in kuwait that is until you go to the nearby Mall which will offer you a day out and plenty of things to do. Dont expect an activity filled visit but plan a relaxing time and that is more close to the atmosphere offered by the Hotel. You will not have a problem with the reception and valley parking but during summer if you have a car and it is parked for you, make sure you prepare your self for a steam bath once you take your car as the car park is not shaded, a big disspaintment.

Enjoy the location.

Beautiful facility, large rooms, delicious breakfast buffet, right on the beach and a 5 minute walk to the mall. Can't go wrong! If you have time go to the Souk Al Mubarakiya- great, authentic market only 15 minutes from the hotel.

Nice location on waterfront with private beach, seaside park & promenade, yacht marina and shopping mall all adjacent. Large outdoor pool/beach area with guards meant easy and carefree access to the outdoors. Every room has a balcony, too. Seaviews are lovely. Good gym facilities. Has "spa" facilities (steam room, sauna, hot tub) segregated by sex but never used or saw anyone use - environment is very functional rather than pretty or relaxing which discouraged any inclination on my part. Pools are beautiful and look well maintained, I wish I had used them but didn't see any women there until my last day so wasn't sure if appropriate to do so. Two restaurants had tasty food though it seemed the same options available at all times and in both with no real choice (buffet style) - but perhaps this is how it works in Kuwait as encountered same dishes everywhere else, too Large room with good temperature control, quiet & dark, one of the comfiest beds/pillows + very good sleep. Adequate closet space, a working safe, nice bathroom with tub and great separate shower. Large desk. Ipod player & flat screen TV. Overall only complaint is they allow smoking pretty much everywhere including in restaurants which was really unpleasant for me, but again that seems to be all over Kuwait (restaurants have "no smoking" sections but of course that doesn"t help much). Expensive. Location not particularly central but hardly anyone walks in Kuwait so you will likely go everywhere by car anyways.

Room Tip: don't take first floor if you are a woman alone as you will feel less secure

I just finished a great two-night stay here! The hotel is clean, fresh, and filled with natural light from all of the windows. The staff were organized and welcoming from the minute we met at the airport.

Loved my room with its crisp decor and spacious design. Bathroom has both a huge shower and tub, and the bath products are great. The bed is reasonably comfortable, with the linens staunchly washed and bleached to satisfaction.

Breakfast was pretty decent, especially the chef making fresh saj! Room service was prompt and good...shish tawok very tasty. The staff also gave me a generous fruit bowl in the room, which helped battle the jet lag late-night munchies.

I would give a perfect rating but for one important point. Upon returning to the hotel after 11 pm and entering a lobby crowded with men, the doorman loudly demanded to know my room number. I refused, pointing out that I didn't want to say it around all the men. He kept persisting; he didn't stop till I just pulled out my key and firmly told him to stop. I am sorry, but as a woman on her own in a hotel, I am not giving out my room number in a crowd of men. Figure it out, Marina Hotel.

But that was the only flaw in my stay. It is a wonderful hotel in a fantastic location. For those concerned about expensive F & B, just walk next door to the restaurants at Marina Crescent.

Room - very spacious. The room had a nice light decor, fresh flowers, a fruit bowl (got a mouldy peach :-( , outdoor patio with table and chairs and nice pool/sea view

Bathroom - Molton Brown amenities! Huge shower, double sinks, big bath and nice lighting

Service - Must pass through metal detector to enter hotel, even though they dont care if it buzzes. Staff are ok, there when you need them.
Room cleaning was super, especially in the bathroom

Gym - fully equipped. Loved the chilled lavender scented towels and fruit juice/fruit water available

Food - just has breakfast buffet twice. Wish it was a non-smoking restaurant, don't wish to sit in smoke first thing in the morning. Good selection available and all looking fresh and replenished

Location - not in the city but 5mins walk from the mall, corniche and popular eating spots

It's not a big brand hotel, but the rooms/amenities and service beat some chains by a mile

Amazing water views; in my opinion the best in Kuwait. Good food, quiet atmosphere, good service. Lovely private beach. Large rooms, comfortable beds, attractive appointments. Short walk to Marina Crescent, where all kinds of coffee shops and restaurants may be found--on weekend early mornings, try the breakfast at the Pan de Qotidien--sit outside and enjoy the marina filled with boats, the palm trees, a gentle breeze. If you're looking to kill a little time, there's a Color Me Mine across from Dunkin' Donuts! Great shopping across the street at the Marina Mall. Easy to hail a taxi to Kuwait City, the business district.

Room Tip: Waterviews are amazing!

Stayed there one night. Greatly located near Marina. You will find many restaurants and coffee shops around the property. Unless you have your own transportation, it is hard to get a taxi. Food is little bit disappointing. The rooms are nice, modern, with a seaside view. But you can hear noises from the room next. Overall rates were overpriced considering all they offered. Would recommend The Regency or JW Marriott if you are traveling for business. But it would be a good destination for short vacations. I checked in for one night and moved to JW Marriott next day. I enjoyed the stay but it was not particularly catered to business travelers
