this was my third visit to the Spa Club Hotel. the first 2 times I went we had a great time - the room was nice, the food was good and the service was excellent. This time we got a room on the other side of the hallway and it was small and claustrophobic- the furniture was falling apart and the doors didn't close properly. The food in the dining room was okay but nothing special (coffee wasn't even hot and cup on table was chipped). the waiters/waitresses were busy talking among themselves, or fiddiling with their hair, or trying to take plates off the table while we were still eating from them. i felt i had to hold it down with my hand for them not to take it. there was one incident where a knife fell off a table and i saw the head of the dining room rushing to bring the man a new knife, which i thought was very nice. But then she took the knife that she picked up off the floor and put it in the bin with the clean cutlery! The price of a stay there is very expensive and this was no way a 5 star hotel. the tea in the lobby was nice although only once were there apples and i saw no sign of the cookies and unfortunately the area wasn't kept clean. maybe we fell on a bad couple of days but this was completely the opposite of our previous stays. the picture of the room shown on this site must be from the other side of the hall way - the odd number rooms so if you choose to go ask not to have an even number room. the purpose of this visit was to take my 87 year old mom away for a nice weekend. it could have been better.

Room Tip: odd number rooms are of better quality.

Nice hotel, good rooms and facilities, nice private beach... sounds perfect, right? Well, almost. After a long dry day exploring the desert, I walked up to the nice fresh water pool expecting to do a few laps before dinner... but I hardly had time to get wet because they kicked everybody out at 5 PM sharp and locked up the entire area! The sun was still nice and warm and up in the sky. C'mon guys, give us a bit more time OK?

the room was good and clean although the very small window allows only very little daylight in.
the restaurant is in a huge hall with the charme of a university cafeteria. The tables are made out of plastic and there is just enough space to walk between them. They don't have a winecard, just one white and red wine. A shame in a country that produces so many great wines. food is ok, not more. The beach is easy to reach within 2 minutes, the sunchairs don't open properly. Generally we were very disappointed by En Boqeq. The beaches are dirty and a lack of charme can be felt everywhere. If we go back to the Dead Sea we will certainly go to En Gedi!
