We were a family of 4 and stayed in a room with 2 bunk beds. The room was large and clean and the beds comfortable. We had the buffet dinner and especially loved the schnitzel. The breakfast had a wonderful selection of typical Israeli style with lots of salads, cheeses, breads etc. We enjoyed the pool and it was great to be in the water and see the giant mountains nearby. The location of the hostel is superb as it extremely close to the beginning of the snake path for the sunrise hike. The reception can advise on the correct time for the sunrise. Convenient for Dead Sea and Ein Gedi park trails - try Wadi David and Wadi Arugot.

While on the pricy side for a hostel, the location of this accommodation was completely worth it!
This was the perfect base to explore Masada, with only a 5 minute walk to the start of the Snake Path - making it perfect for the sunrise hike.
The bus stop is just outside the hostel which allows for easy access to surrounding areas, including the Dead Sea and the Ein Gedi Nature Reserve for beautiful hikes. For swimming in the Dead Sea's public beaches, we would only recommend visiting Ein Bokek (not Ein Gedi).
The room we stayed in was extremely comfortable and clean, with a great view of the Dead Sea and Jordanian mountains from our balcony. The hostel feels more like a hotel in terms of the amenities, with a large bathroom and shower, fridge, television and air conditioning. There is also a large swimming pool to relax in after a day out. The buffet dinner and breakfast was great value for money with a large selection of delicious meats and salads. We highly recommend the schnitzel!

The Hostel has family rooms with bunk beds. There was a small fridge and water pot for coffee/tea (which we did not use). The bathroom was very large with separate doors for toilet and shower while leaving the double sinks available. The location was great for visiting the Dead Sea at Ein Bokek and Masada. Breakfast was plentiful, but not too tasty. They close the pool around 5 pm, not sure why. A later swim would have been great.

Me and my family - 2 adults + 3 kids stayed there a week ago and had a great stay.
The hostel offers great value for money in a prime location, nearby the Dead Sea and Masada.
We enjoyed a clean room , an amazing swimming pool and a lovely hospitality.

Room Tip: All rooms are the same we stayed in a room for 5, and it was quite comfortable.

Its a youth hostel - so expect lots of young people and all the noise that goes with them.

Expect also low cost mass catering.

The hostel achieves its objective of being a wonderful base from which to explore Masada and the surrounding area.

We had a superior double room with a fabulous view over the dead sea. The room was modern, spacious, beds comfortable, bedlinen and towels of good standard, the shower and wc clean and well designed. There is a big TV screen with local channels, Wifi was OK but could get overloaded with hundreds of children all using their smartphones at the same time.

The dinner buffet was simple and good quality. Older guests had brought their own wine to take in - there is no bar or alcohol served.

We followed advice and left the hostel at 0515 am to walk to the entrance gate to snake path which opened at 0520 that day. Then after the climb up Snake Path before sunrise returned on the cable car for a shower and Israeli style breakfast in the hotel before the 10 am checkout.

Great experience.

Cannot fault this place, especially at this price. They are in the middle of the desert so have the monopoly and could charge what they want. The rooms were exceptional for dorms, comfy beds, towels, own bathroom and fridge. Amazingly clean. Great balcony views and really helpful staff. The dinner buffet is a bargain for the price, the food is pretty good too with plenty of choice. They even have a pool here, not that youll need it with so much to do!
Beware though...they cater for everyone, including school trips. When i was there, their were THREE schools there and peace and quiet was but a dream!!!

We booked many different types of accommodations in Israel, from 5 star luxury to B&B. The Masada Guest House and Hostel was a wonderful place to stay for many reasons. The food was amazing, the room clean and spacious, the views fantastic. We saw a double rainbow for the first time ever!! When a flash flood closed all roads in and out of Masada, and we were stranded there for an extra night, Sarit called our next hotel and explained and arranged everything for us. We were, therefore staying over Shabbat, and the dinner that night was superb, plentiful, with all the trimmings, cloth napkins and lovely tablecloths. I had read some negative reviews citing the noise from young people. We had no problem with the young people there, everyone was polite and the only "noise" was from a spirited game of soccer........what a pleasure to seeing kids from all over enjoying themselves and getting along together. We will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Beautiful views over the Dead Sea.
