“Nothing special”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2014

Stayed a week in the beginning of November in the new spa part that was for adults only-including no cell phone ringtone allowed, talking on the phone in the common areas, no kids and no noise. There is no life too - it is more like an overpriced rehabilitation center in the middle of the dead sea small city. The food is good too and the staff superb - rooms pretty small and basic.

Room Tip: take a bit pricey spa - renovated part of the hotel - the restaurant in it is better, so the service...

First off the food is awful we saw dirty plates cleanliness is not a priority. our group was with Oat. This was the only hotel on our itinerary that sucked we stayed February 5/6. First day we all had cold showers, most staff do not speak English but mostly Russian.hotel does not cater to Americans. One of the couples in our tour was given the wrong room twice. The carpets need cleaning. The bar on Spa side is not bad. On the Oasis side it did seem like a retirement home. But our tour chose this place. We complained and got bottled water, chocolates, cookies and wine to make up. The maids are lousy. You get what u pay for cheap labor they are from other countries. The facial and massage was the plus side.

This place felt like a combination of retirement home and rehabilitation center. The restaurant was more like a cafeteria, complete with days-old food, dirty plates and lackluster interior. The fact that there was clearly tension between staff members (which nearly escalated into a full-blown confrontation) certainly didn't add to the ambiance. This general sense of hostility and indifference was also very tangible at the spa, where we were treated more like nuisances than customers. If you hope to relax and indulge yourself at the Dead Sea, this is not the place to do it.

Dear Mr/Mrs anonymous .Thank you for your response. In order to check the details of your complaints, i would like to receive your name and dates of your stay at the Oasis hotel, according to your profile we have no matching reservation and the details noted are far fetched from the hotels unique standards. aswell as mentioning that the oasis is "retiremnet home" . I have to state that the hotel was closed for 6 months since January 2013-End of May 2013 for a complete renovation, which included all the hotels systems, hotel rooms, banquet halls, lobby & decorated with one of Israels top Interior designers Mr. Daniel Hasson.
In order for you response to be effective it is imperitive that we have the exact details of your stay.
You may also reach us via direct email oasissec@prima.co.il to confirm your details with us.

Location is great, rest is just average. Beware of all the russians though! It is a nice hotel with great views, but a little outdated and the size of the spa is too small. Okay for a night or two, wouldn't want to stay here longer. Also food not very varied.

Room Tip: Get a room at the back of the hotel, as there is noise coming from the lobby in the evenings

I stayed two nights at the Oasis Dead Sea during a tour of Israel. My room, located on the 4th floor of the hotel, had a king-size bed, a flat screen TV with multiple channels (some in English including CNN), several lamps, a small chair, and shelf for my rollerboard, a super mini-fridge, and two night tables. The bathroom had a sink, commode, and shower but (alas) not bathtub. The usual amenities appeared on the bathroom counter.

The bedroom and bathroom were quite clean, and the entire place was fairly noisy with because of the hotels very thin walls; I heard my next door neighbors chatting away or making love (very easy to easedrop!), and I also heard many people talking as they walked past my door. On the positive side, I had a nice view of the Dead Sea from the bedroom.

I ate dinner at this hotel as well as breakfast. Dinner, which was a buffet-style setting, consisted of several main dishes, plus lots of salads and some desserts. Overall, it was just an average buffet -- certainly nothing special. Don’t eat the hamburgers because they are certainly full of grease: horrible!

Breakfast was also a buffet, which was quite good overall. I liked the fact that the “egg cook” was there, but he really didn’t know how to make “over easy” eggs, so I told him how to do it.

If you have your own computer or iphone, the hotel offers free WiFi, but only for one hour per day. If you use only a small portion of that hour and try getting back into your account later, you will find that it has expired -- a real ripoff. In that case, you must wait until the next day to get another User and Password from the Reception desk personnel, so this hotel is really, REALLY chintzy on its Internet offering.

Good hotel very close to the beach in dead sea.
The rooms are very comfortable, the staff is helpful and the breakfast is also very nice.
There is a shopping mall nearby, with some options of restaurants. But the hotel also has a nice restaurant, that is also an option.
They also offer a great spa, with some nice swimming pools.
