Isrotel Dead Sea Hotel & Spa
Ranked #5 of 17 Hotels in Ein Bokek
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed October 3, 2012

it is my 3rd time @ this hotel (don't be confused with isrotel's "GANIM" hotel at the dead sea. they are not at the same level.)

Hotel is very nice. has a large pool, spa area with dead sea water pool , and sulfur water pool. Spa area is at extra charge or when ordering a massage. (wide range of massages and body treatment).

across the street from the hotel is a beach (a 3 minutes walk from the Lobby to the waterfront, but hotel is providing free transportation in a golf-cart) with drinking water and towels.

Children will have little to do. bear in mind that the are almost no restaurants in the area (except on in the hotel that is closed on Friday nights) so HB or FB should be considered.

I recommend reserving a room in the VIP MOAB floor. you will be able to eat breakfast at a more quite place (and nor with the noisy general population), have access to the nice lounge area (again - no children allowed), with light meals day-round and a place to sit and relax.

Room Tip: 8th floor is the VIP floor. pay a little extra, get a whole lot more.

If you're planning a vacation in the dead sea than you should know that what you should look for is a relaxing and quiet hotel. The Isrotel Dead Sea hotel delivers.
Nice clean rooms. A healthy and varied breakfast. Dinner includes wine and beer which is a nice touch.
The spa is excellent, My wife and I took two treatments each and both were satisfactory. The sea is right across the street.
The location is a 10 minute walk from the shopping centers, but anyone who has been to the Dead Sea knows that theres nothing to do there anyway.

The most expensive hotel, I suppose in the Dead Sea.
The service was very good in the restaurants, but not the same in the reception and room service (very-very slow, without proper hospitality for the 5* hotel).
The room was not the best (honestly, we expected more for moab one), but was ok.
Food was varied and nicely performed by chiefs.

Spa area is located in the ground floor and occupied whole floor. It is amazing.
Most of beauticians, massagists have spoken 3 languages- hebrew, english, ukranian/russian.
The beach is private one, but you have to cross the road to reach it.

Entertainment: every evening singers sang popular international songs. Quite nice. We enjoyed it a bit after dinner before sleep.

We have been there during Jewish Easter. All country has a week holiday.
The impact on tourists was significant if we are talking about price (eg taxi, exchange rate etc).

Overall, we enjoyed our city-break.

Room Tip: Moab Room, especially in the corners

This is my third hotel in the dead sea area. they all seem to be musty and sort of run down. this is the best of the ones in the area. the pool is great. We had a great view on the expensive upper floor but it was bare bones like any motel 6 on the highway. the ocean is across the road and kind of dingy . There were no available massages for 2 days we were there. Food was average.

This hotel has good facilities, a great range of food at meal time, and is close to its own private Dead Sea beach, however, the holiday was spoiled by the many families who let their children rule the roost. The rooms are fine, kept clean and tidy. Unfortunately we went at school holiday time, which meant that the hotel was full of families. It seemed that the kids could do much as they wished - running round corridors in the afternoon shouting, breaking all the pool rules (and rarely being challenged by the pool guards). It made for a not very relaxing holiday at all, and defeated the facilities really. The hotel will probably need a refurb quite soon - many tiles in the pools are damaged, walls and skirting around the hotel (certainly below the seventh floor) has seen a few bashes, our room door didn't fit so it let light from the corridor in (draping it with towels fixed most of that though). The hotel was fully booked out, and we worked around famaily meal time as much as we could. Staff when spoken to were helpful - big thumbs up to Magdalen on reception, for example, and the restaurant staff always ready to exchange small talk rather when directing you to tables.
Overall, if you have kids - go, they'll have a ball, and will have lots of friends to keep them company; if you don't, you may want to be quite choosey about which time of year you drop in here.

Room Tip: Try the rooms on higher floors - possibly quieter and better. All rooms are facing the Dead Sea.

Traveled with a large black Christian group from Texas, and this hotel was absolutely wonderful. The group had the time of their life. The only problem we experienced was..no available appointments for a massage. Next time we will book prior to arriving.

Room Tip: My room faced the dead sea

Rooms and bedding were pretty poor. Air conditioning erratic. Bathroom fixtures did not work well. Half board situation involved a cattle call feeding operation if you don't pay a premium for the steak house restaurant. Poll hours amazingly limited - closed at 630 pm. Make the Dead Sea a day trip.

Room Tip: Lots of Russian tourists. so beware rooms flavored with cigarette smoke.
