We stayed here for four nights and had a wonderful time. Hotel is definitely better than Meridien or Crown. The room was fine, but not 5 star (by World traveller standard). Other facilities were fine, pool almost 25 meters, but shallow end not good to swim. Beach quite ok, but little more effort to clean small plastics out of sand might help. Food - quality, taste, choice - was great. At the same time - staff not trained at all, ordering a bottle of vine is almost like desert delivery, we had to beg for it... Most of staff really friendly people, but some (agree with mlynnf50) VERY arrogant which could easily be overcome with more staff training, the cook serving the meat was very rude and had a bad attitude, (treating us like enemies of Palestine? which we are not...)

The best hotel in the area of dead sea. My husband and I were staying five days in October. We got a room on the 3rd floor with sea view. The entire hotel was renovated at a high level and hot designed like the landscape of the Dead Sea - turquoise and brown as the sea and the desert.
Private beach great Spa and excellent food.

Room Tip: All rooms are with sea view, and all facilities. great for couples little small for families.

We stayed here for two nights and had a wonderful time, the room was good although not 5 star.
The only downside are some of the staff are a bit arrogant which could easily be overcome with more staff training, the cook serving the meat was very rude and had a bad attitude, I thought it was because we are British but he seemed like that with everyone, although saying that they never offered us tea and coffee we always had to ask. The lack of staff speaking English was also a problem especially when trying to find out time tables for the bus.
The massages are great so relaxing, it's a must here.

We would definitely stay here again, and are already planning our next holiday.

We stayed a weekend and reserved an executive room.Compared to other 5-star hotels in Israel, the room was small and furniture basic. The corridor leading to the rooms is in a very bad condition. The walls were around the bathroom were badly painted and it was obvious that they were at some places damp. The room"s door and the bathroom"s door were very dirty. There was no bathtub and a very bad smell came from there. We complained and after the first repairman did not solve the problem a second one came in and fix it, but next morning the foul smell was back and we had to complain again.A lady in charge of customers" service contacted us during our stay and invited us to meet her . She heard our complaint standing up in the middle of the lobby, was not very patient and gave the impression that she did not have too much time for us, and sent us later a fruit plate to the room...
The roon had a very nice private sun- deck looking to the hotel"s private beach. There is also a nice big outdoor pool . The spa is excellent and we had a first class massage.
Food was tasty and abundant.
I believe that you can obtain a better value for your money.

Three days at Herods recharged our batteries! The hotel has recently been renovated and there are still a few spots that need work but in general the atmosphere is calming and inviting. We had a room with a small private deck overlooking the Dead Sea , comfy bed and amazing view. The pool and beach areas are well taken care of , staff are super nice and helpful and the food was yummy. While maybe not the most luxurious hotel at the Dead Sea Herods is certainly a place I'd be happy to go back to.
