Clean comfortable rooms and an abundance of mediocre food makes this hotel an OK place to stay. With a little extra care it might be a place to return to. We were a group of 40 arriving for a mid week 4 day 3 night stay. We were assigned a variety of rooms, some facing the sea, others the desert, some with balconies. None of the room keys worked and we all had to return to the front desk for new keys. I took the opportunity to request a sea view and to my surprise and delight was assigned one.
the weather was lovely and after the first night my companion and I choose to dine outside on the terrace near the pool. Although the dinning room opened at 7 AM most of the pool side tables were not set up by 7:45. On the plus side there were 2 seatings for dinner and we were seated by staff therefore avoiding "table stealing" I'd experienced at other hotels in Israel.
The lobby bar was staffed with waiters who didn't wait. It was almost impossible to order a pre dinner drink. The spa was a bit disappointing with the jaccussi almost cold. The warm dead sea water pool was fun. There was a jitney that ran not too often between the hotel and the beach.
There was some entertainment provided in the lobby at 9:30 PM and activities for kids during the day. In room TV broadcast some Israeli channels, BBC News, Fox News, some movies as well as programs in Russian. The in room brochure listed a bowling alley on the 3rd floor but a teen in our group said it wasn't open when he stopped by.
I don't understand why they only gave us 1 bath towel each day and why it took 45 minutes to have the second delivered.

Room Tip: Request room with sea view and terrace

Have visited the Dead Sea on several occasions and this is the worst hotel I have stayed at. The smell in the coffee lounge was reminiscent of vomit - and the friends who accompanied us were of the same opinion. The bedroom needed a complete refurb - in fact the hotel itself looked tired and the staff were very laid back and disinterested. Food was not of 5 star quality though it was plentiful. Reminded me of a kibbutz in presentation and style.

Deserves a high rating because of the location and the comfort of this hotel. Breakfast was very good but inclusive dinner not exactly gastronomic - what Israeli chain hotel is?? Although only there one night, it would have been good to have had a Dead Sea view. We were on the other side facing the main road and the bare mountainside. Seeing a sunrise from its elevated position would have been spectacular.

Room Tip: Do try to get a Dead Sea view.

We stayed at the hotel for a single night. Had a late check in and it was smooth, no long waits at the reception.
The double bed suite was very comfortable, plenty of room....
Though the hotel lacked some amenities, however it was made available on request (bathroom slippers, dental kit), bathing robe wasn't available which we found strange for a SPA!!!
Room service was ok, took them a few extra minutes to get the order delivered.

The hotel also does have a Medical center for massage & mud treatments... pity they dont have value beauty packages for a day as travellers like me love to cover the entire country and make the most of it in short time so we usually stay for less time at the hotel and are always out on the move during the day. They have treatments for psoriasis etc which is for a longer period... option of 1 week to 5 weeks!

The hotel has 5 pools, excellent for families & kids. The beach is just a few metres away from the hotel for those who want to float in the dead sea and enjoy the rich minerals and pamper the skin.

The gift center carries a lovely collection of traditional art as well as modern art - bedoin jewelry, mosaic art, silver ware, religious articles (rosary, nativity set, mud/soil from hoy land) wooden artefacts that tries to re-interpret their culture etc.

Overall we would rate the hotel with 3 stars!

I am usually very generous in my assessment of a place & I did read the reviews of this place before staying for 1 night & have to say the reviews are right.
At first sight this looks like a modern well appointed hotel - we arrived in the evening. In the full light of day you can see the cracks!! The bedrooms did not feel clean and I doubt the carpets had seen a hoover for some time. Bathroom ditto - rather grubby. We faced the road, trash bin and desert. However, at evening meal we started to see the issues at the bottom of all this.
The staff were surely some of the worst trained staff I have ever come across in a hotel - they hadn't a clue when you eventually got their attention, didn't now what was on offer e.g. wine. Didn't know how to charge to a room. The dining room is awful - American diner at its worse - with high ceilings that make you feel you are eating in an airport hangar...and really noisy too. Food was lowest quality - no real meat just cheap versions of kebabs etc. The only good thing at night was sitting on the open air terrace having a drink (having had 30 mins worth of trying to get some wine and book it to our room...barman hadn't a clue and waitress had to put him right).
I felt an inexplicable urge to get out there and put the staff right and give them some decent training and motivation. (..steady...I was on holiday after all!!)
Not much choice of hotels in this part of the world so they must have decided they have a monopoly and exploited it.
Dead Sea bathing was really good though - makes you look 10 years younger, apparently..but don't worry the wait at the bar will soon put all that age back in your face!!

Room Tip: Seems a buit like a lottery as even a pool view suffers from excessive noise but nicer scenery!!!

I went with my family to a vacation for three nights in a hotel after getting recommendations from friends. The room faced the pool was clean and spacious. The meals were delicious. There is a bowling alley, an Irish pub and is located near the beach. I will be back for sure for another fun vacation.
p.s Excellent and professional spa

Room Tip: face the fool + balcony

What a miserable place to be (and we actually paid a lot of money to be there). I imagine the staff are under strict orders to look gruff and moody all the time as I never saw a smile once. Who'd have thought they work in a service and tourism industry.

The hotel is noisy, tired, overpriced and sad and quite frankly a stain on such a great location.

Every experience I had simply screamed 'we don't care'. The 'welcome' from the reception was depressing. We were given a photocopied (wonky) sheet of paper and told that 'here are the answers to all your questions'.

Theyll want to charge you for Wifi (but walk around outside for a bit and you'll definitely find it).

Our bed was comfortable and there were windows in the room (no balcony). Erm really struggling to say something positive. Ok here goes... You have a nice view of the other hotels (where you wish you stayed).

The safe in the room didn't work so we had to call maintenance who promptly came and fixed it. He told my husband that it is a known problem and happens all the time. My husband fixed the vanity mirror which was hanging off the wall. If you squint in the room you might be able to ignore the tired looking furniture with all it's marks and scratches.

We wanted an early night so as to get a full day in the sea the following day, at 9:46pm we went to bed. At 10:30 we got a call from reception (asking for me by name) enquiring as to whether we had organised for transport tomorrow. At 10:30pm ... Are they complete imbeciles?! All we had to do was to WALK across the road to the sea. Why would we need transport and why call us so late? After being kept up until midnight with a really loud floor cleaning machine and the loud 'entertaining' music, my husband went to the reception desk who denied the phone call. They just shrug... NEVER apologise. It is infuriating!

We couldn't sit by the pool because the loud music made it imposible to relax / read. The only people there were pensioners (probably hard of hearing).

If you want to experience the dead sea for rest and relaxation.... Please please don't use the Daniel hotel. (Oh and bring your own beach towels if you do otherwise you'll be lying on a thin hand towel.

Yuck what a truly miserable place with miserable people... Look even I'm miserable now.
