“Perfect fall get-away”
Reviewed September 20, 2011

We met our Canadian friends at this wonderful B&B for 4 days of winery visits and just taking in the Finger Lakes sights. It could not have been better!! Barbara and Tom are the perfect hosts/innkeepers. Each morning was another gourmet breakfast. We could hardly wait to see what Barbara had made. Their suggestions of restaurants was superb...rooms were homey and nicely decorated. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Weather allowed us to have time visiting on their patio surrounded by a pretty little "English" garden. Having left our furry friends home, we enjoyed being welcomed each morning by Rita, Teddy and Smokey....very friendly but not a problem to anyone. Definitely a place we would return to if in the area.

Room Tip: Chardonnay room had TV and fireplace...upstairs, but on front of house where main street traffic can...

We spent a evening at this wonderful bed and breakfast located within the village. The room was extremely cozy and clean. Close walk to restaurants.

Pros:
-Easily within walking distance of Watkins Glen State Park, and a very short drive into downtown
-Delicious and filling breakfast (you can skip breakfast)
-Ample parking space
-The Rose Room has the most comfortable mattress we have ever slept on
-Well-kept

Cons:
-The room was right next to the kitchen and sound traveled in very easily (not sure if this would hold for rooms on the second floor)
-The B&B is located on a busy (and sometimes noisy) street.

This was only our 2nd time in a B&B. Everything was excellent and much better than our expectations. Tom and Barb are exceptional hosts, both in area knowledge and everything related to our stay. The breakfasts were excellent - homemade, fresh, and delicious. The location is very convenient to Watkins Glen SP and to the downtown area. If we are in the area, we will definitely stay there again. Highly recommended!!!

Our stay at The Echoes of the Glen Bed and Breakfast was amazing. The location is perfect: right in the center of town, walking distance to Watkins Glen State Park and a short driving distance to the many wineries and highly acclaimed local restaurants. Barb and Tom are so wonderful, hospitable, welcoming, knowledgeable, and friendly. They are always on hand to recommend the many options for things to do in Watkins Glen and the surrounding Finger Lakes area. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the common areas are inviting and friendly. The breakfasts are scrumptious featuring locally grown and prepared items and Barb’s homemade muffins and pastries. We can’t wait to go back!

Barb and Tom Merrill made us feel at home in their beautifully decorated Inn with marvelous breakfasts! We love animals, so they let their two cats, Teddy and Rita visit us to add their welcome. If you're not an animal lover, they will confine the cats so you aren't bothered.
The rooms were immaculate and the queen size bed very comfortable. Each room has it's own AC, so we could adjust the temperature to our liking.
We loved it, and certainly intend to visit again!

Room Tip: One room has a memory foam mattress equal to Tempr-pedic, and one room has a tub and shower.

My wife and I were in Watkins Glen for a family wedding. We made reservations at Echoes of the Glen for four nights. When we arrived, Barb welcomed us warmly, and as we came into the kitchen, we were offered fresh baked Toll House cookies. That struck a tone. We met Tom, Barb's husband, and talked a bit about the area. Then we were shown our room, the Concord Suite. It is as the web page picture shows, neat, clean and comfortable. The bathroom sparkled, and was well stocked with soft towels. On one of the four nights, we stayed in the Seneca Paradise room, which, while smaller, was no less well kept. Each had a quiet air conditioner.
Breakfast at Echoes of the Glen are delicious and very ample. We had delicious coffee in the living room while the aroma of fresh baked treats filled the air. Berries, oatmeal and granola are featured in each day's muffins. Fresh fruit, melon and juices were served each day. We had apple pancakes, waffles with strawberries, ham and egg bake, and stuffed French toast as the main course. Each was better than the last.
Barb and Tom are fine people who should take great pride in their outstanding B&B. Echoes of the Glen is a welcome spot for any traveler. We'd stay there again, without hesitation.
