“Beautiful trip, great wineries”
Reviewed September 21, 2012

It is so relaxing and beautiful as you ride along the wine trail. Everyone in the wineries was friendly and courteous. the wines were all so good it was hard to choose a favorite. Will definitely go again.

“Wine central for Central NY”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

Seneca Lake has the biggest concentration of wineries in the Finger Lakes - mostly because some of the best grape growing plots are here. The "banana belt" on the southeast side of Seneca Lake has milder weather in spring and fall, helping to protect the grape vines from late frosts in spring and early frosts in fall. In our family we joke that whatever winery you visit on the east side, they claim to be at the 'north edge' of the banana belt ;) Lots of variety, a winery for everyone from high-end (and higher-priced) to something-for-everyone spots. And everywhere, gorgeous views of fjord-like Seneca Lake and lovely vineyards. Take some time to go online or call around to see which stops make the most sense for you - unless you are here for at least a week (and even then being a dedicated 'spitter' would help), you aren't going to hit every winery in just one visit.

“Always fun!”
Reviewed September 18, 2012

The Seneca lake wineries are always fun to visit! Both sides of the lake have wineries that are fun to visit, there are so many that you could go to a different set every time.

“Scenic Beauty”
Reviewed September 17, 2012

We rented a cottage on Seneca Lake this summer. Each day we tried to take in a few different wineries. The Finger Lakes region of New York State is fenominal for its wines. The surrounding scenery is just as great. The different wineries, whether large or small, are wonderful to visit and most are open daily for tastings. The rolling hills and the beautiful lake are gorgeous.

“not the best wines...”
Reviewed September 10, 2012

wasn't impressed at all with the wines but the view is beautiful along the drive... drive, don't ride bike. it's hilly and long around the lake. and plan where the stop for lunch will be. there are not too many restaurants around the lake.
