“Nice time spend in Watkins Glen State Park”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

I have visited Watkins Glen State Park with my husband while going to Niagara falls. The park was awesome. The waterfalls are beautiful. Lots of steps are there. But worth visiting this place. I will look forward to visit it again.

“A must do!”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

The gorge is absolutely beautiful. It is worth the hike. The views are beautiful. I would arrive early on a weekend since it does get crowded. Need to be able to climb stairs.

“One of the Best Hikes Ever ...”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

What a beautiful spot ... a photographers dream. Take your time and lots of photos. We walked at a good pace and traversed the entire Gorge in about 2 hours. There was a lot of rain the week before we arrived so the water was flowing really well. Worth the $2 entry fee !!! Gorgeous spot.

“We love living here”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

Wear your comfortable shoes and spend a few hours hiking and enjoying nature. Try and imagine how water and time have carved this beautiful gorge and created the waterfalls. The man made steps were started back in the late 30’s or early 40’s by the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) . Each year, before the park officially opens for the season, the NYS Parks Dept takes a crew into remove loose stones and fallen branches to assure everyone’s safety. And don’t forget to take a side tour on the Indian Trail; it takes you past a beautiful old cemetery. The park is free, however, there is a parking fee.

“Awesome! Must See!”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

The Gorge was absolutely one of my favorite stops on our trip. Although, I do not know how some of the elderly people I passed on the way down made it up all of those steps! We learned a trick from the locals and that is to take the shuttle to the top and then walk down. You get to experience the whole gorge but are going DOWN instead of up! The park is a must see stop. The falls are so beautiful, even had my 12 year old amazed! (THAT is not an easy thing these days!)
