It was the birthday girl's birthday weekend and she chose where we went. Saint-Cirq is one of her favourite places. It's a gorgeous village, very touristy, but in February it's relatively quiet, many of the restaurants and shops are shut, so there's less choice of places to eat.

The little terrace is lovely and we managed to grab a seat there. No real views of the village but all the same there's a very pleasant outlook. Also you couldn't fault the service.

We took the 28.50€ menu, starting with the duo of foie gras. A terrine with fig chutney and an escalope with a balsamic glaze. The foie gras was ok, nothing to get excited about but both parts of the dish were spoiled by the heavy handed chutney and balsamic.

P chose the seven hour cooked veal in mustard sauce and I took the casoulet which was distinctly average. The confit felt old and tired and the sauce was watery.

We chose lou pastis a local pastry for dessert. This came with a supplement. It's something different and worth having when in Saint-Cirq.

In summary, a pleasant enough meal, but the food has to better than it was on this occasion to justify the price and encourage me to return in favour of other places in the village.

We had a great experience at this restaurant. We were transportet by a shuttle from our Hotel And Spa Lapopie Saint Cirq, which was great, as everybody could enjoy an extra glas of local wine. The food was very good, the portions were very large. This is a great place to choose food from a duck, which we did, at both the starter as well as the main course. The place is cosy, and we enjoyed the place.

Had seen a couple of positive reviews on this restaurant .... ran across it pretty much upon arrival in the village .... pretty much above the Wine Museum.

We had a table on the small balcony .... soaked up the views and the vibes of the village .... can now understand why this village was voted best village in France 2012.

Everything was spot on ... very good value for a quality lunch on French Mothers Day ...

If you don’t care for the local specialties (pate, duck, lardons, cheeses, etc), then study the a la carte menu carefully to see if you might like their other options. Their well-price prix-fixe meals are high in quality and substantial serving sizes. Some reviewers complained about overly done meats. Please rad about duck confit and cassoulet, because these preparations are made low and slow over hours. They are also not lean! We had an extraordinary meal, one of our best in the region, where we had similar dishes multiple times. The service is quiet but very competent. It’s not a fawning place; it’s homey in ambiance but serious about the food —— parfait!
