Description: The DeBastard restaurant is the restaurant of the hotel of the eponym name situated in a mansion of the end of the 18th century, right in the heart of the city of Lectoure. Close below the Cathedral, you will be welcomed in a beautiful environment where you will enjoy a "bistronomic" cuisine for lunch on weekdays and more gastronomic for the dinner and the weekend. In the summer months, you will settle down on the terrace of the inner courtyard of the building and will have a magnificent view by above the roofs of Lectoure and on the surrounding countryside. Conviviality is our key word. You will find it in the plate with delicious dishes concocted by the chef Pascal, but also by the welcoming and during all the service. We would be pleased if you would leave after spending with us a really delightfull moment where food and wine will be for the honor.

A great courtyard setting in an ancient town that every year has more eateries. They do everything right here- an astonishing repertoire of foie gras. Signature dessert of prune and Armagnac soufflé. Can be very pricey, but equally the outstanding lunch menu is often great value. Service immaculate and intelligent.

Really lovely outside dining, but its all a bit precious and the food doesnt live up to the pomp and ceremony for the price. To be honest we had a better meal in the local sports bar just down the street, homemade frites and steak for 12 euro.

If the sun is shining you eat in a beautiful courtyard with views over the Gers which ticks several boxes before you start. If it's cooler, the interior is plain, elegant with well spaced tables in several adjoining rooms. There is a 50 euro menu degustation but we chose the 30 euro choice from the a la carte. Delicious amuses bouche accompanied a perfect chilled vin blanc kir followed by a lobster bisque covering a pancake of shrimps then pig cheeks served with greens and a spume of flavouring. Others had a stuffed mackerel dish which they said was very good. Dessert was an unusual rhubarb and meringue concoction which was pleasant. All very French in that everything was inventive to the point of slightly fussy, but delicious nonetheless and that's what counts. With wine and water the bill for three was a reasonable 143 euro. This is a long standing favourite in the Gers and deservedly so. Recommended without hesitation.

In the last 10 years we have eaten about 4 times at the this hotel, last time in June 2010 on a week day, we booked this time for a saturday treat, as ever, the dining room looked beautiful the location of the hotel is between 2 side streets so be ready to walk up or down a steep hill, and as you enter the hotel steps but also a little ramp. We knew we would be spending good money but I feel the maitre d did not care we booked the regional menue with a glass of wine to each course, 1sr course a lovely borage flower on top of 3 bits of white asapargus very tasty but very small, followed by fish, good then lamb cooked perfectly pudding not so good no cheese a young waitress had grace and looked smart Our bill was over 140 euro, not value for money much better placers to go to and this end of the scale the wine by the glass well balanced coffee poor rather sad, we will stick with going on a wednesday thursday or friday when we can have the menue de jour, note it is closed on a monday and tuesday the hotel name is not a profanity

WE arrived on a Sunday. Having reserved a table for dinner, we were advise that there was no choice of menu and the main course would be mackerel and dinner would cost 29 euros.
We cancelled our reservation and found an excellent restaurant nearby.
A very ordinary continental breakfast cost 11 euros.
