I had been hearing great things about Valente's Restaurant since moving to the Capital District, so my family and I decided on dining there a few nights ago, and we are very happy that we did!
The menu at Valente's Restaurant is vast and we had difficulty deciding on what to order, but I remember my friend telling me that this place had a signature mac ‘n cheese dish called ‘Three Little Pigs’ that won several awards, so I decided to order this as an appetizer. This dish was amazing! This was serious mac ‘n cheese--and probably the best version of this dish that I’ve ever had eaten. It held the perfect ratio of cheese, meat and noodle. I recently discovered that Valente’s Restaurant also sells a frozen version of this dish in and around the Capital District; specifically at Price Chopper supermarkets and various other stores, which is a bonus for me, as we don’t live all that close to Watervliet.
The steak gorgonzola that I ordered as an entrée was very generous and quite good, but it was way too much, having already filled up on the mac ‘n cheese, but it made for a great lunch the following day.
Prices were reasonable, staff was efficient, and while I didn't order anything alcoholic, there was full bar service. It was a very nice, very casual way to spend an evening without breaking the bank. Would definitely go back there again.
