This mother and daughter team need to learn about good customer service. Our patience was tested time and time again in the single night that we stayed there. On arrival the hotel was closed even though we had rang ahead to confirm the check-in time. We had booked a Standard room overlooking the courtyard and had requested online that it be a quiet twin room. We were shown to the wrong room; the room over the front door and it was a wet night so you could hear every car that passed. It was also a double. When we said that we were in the wrong room we were told the room we had booked did not exist anymore and if we wanted a room on the other side of the hotel we would have to pay more. We did and were shown a nicely styled room but very cold - and still no twins in sight. We settled on that but the bed was rock hard and we did not sleep well. The beautiful vaulted restaurant hadn't been heated - instead they showed us to a little room by the front door in which they had lit a fire. The wine list was very expensive for this area and considering we were in Limoux country there was no cremant (the local version of champagne) on the menu; only pink champage at 10 euros a glass. We had been to a lovely restaurant for lunch (the Tantina) and the pink cremant there was 2.50 a glass! The meal was very bland: overcooked veal steak in a weak stock with cubes of carrots and swede - slightly reminiscent of school dinners, and you needed a microscope to see the slivers of cheese served. I hardly ever write a review but I HAD to this time. It is a beautifully furnished hotel but the owners need to sort out their attitude towards their clients. They did not take any responsibility for the mistake regarding the room and were verging on rude towards us even though we were really polite and patient. And it ended up an extremely expensive experience. A real shame as we had really looked forward to staying there.
