“Very enjoyable experience”
Reviewed May 24, 2013

We have eaten there twice in the past week. We found the food to be excellent value and well presented. The staff are very attentive and welcoming. This is a Logis Hotel so you can be assured the standard will high. The restaurant has a real buzz, the ambience and service are top notch. Can't recommend it highly enough.

“Enjoyable Sunday Lunch”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

Despite living nearby for 5 years this is the first time we've eaten Sunday lunch here. I had the €32 set meal with wine with every course making the cost €40, service included. First course was escargot and wild mushrooms with a pastry topping, followed by lamb en croute and a delicious apple filled crepe with eau de vie sauce. The starter was a little disappointing, the sauce overpowered the ingredients and was a little bland. However the main course was wonderful. The huge pie was filled with tender bits of lamb with garlic and the pastry very light. I was surprised there were no vegetables served with this dish, although there was a large potato inside the pie.
The dessert was a delight. A very thin, delicious crepe filled with hot apple and covered with a warm sauce with a hint of eau de vie.
There were several set menus to choose from as well as the a la carte menu. My wife had fillet steak tornador as a main course and passed on the starter. The steak was well cooked and huge, too big for her. A good selection of local wines and friendly efficient serving staff. The restaurant was full and if you like good French cuisine served in decent size portions, try here.
Total cost for the two of us, €70 which included an aperitif each.
Would I go again? Of course.

“Not the greatest Sunday Lunch”
Reviewed July 12, 2012

We met up with some friends at this restaurant for Sunday Lunch. The ambience and service were very good but the food was rather disappointing. We all had the E32 menu and whilst the food was generally quite well cooked and presented the size of the helpings was ridiculously large. Most of us would have found the first course sufficient, whilst the "Agneau en Croute" turned out to be some lamb stew in a bowl with a pastry hat, not what we were expecting (yes we do speak French).
An enjoyable lunch with friends but not memorable food

“Friendly & good value”
Reviewed June 12, 2012

The staff are warm and welcoming (and patient with really bad french), the food is not gourmet but quite good country cooking, the wine list is unpretentious and good value for money, the kitchen is clean and well run. We will go again.

“Delicious”
Reviewed May 22, 2012

The meal was a set menu meal, starting with Foix gras with layers of apple, Duck with champignon in a rich sauce, covered with a light puff pastry, followed by Fresh fruit salad. It was all absolutely delicious, of good value (32 euros - the middle value meal) and served as if it were A la carte. The table wine was of good quality, and the service was impeccable, with a relaxing atmosphere in a delightful restaurant, with additional outside seating for warmer evenings.
