“Fantastic location”
Reviewed February 8, 2014

Only stayed here for one night,..but loved the location. Great views of the Kazinga channel - can go right to the shore.
Watched elephants on the banks opposite and at night a hippo wondered past into the camp site after dinner.
The dinner tables were set in the open round a camp fire (there is a tent for daytime/when the weather is not as nice). The tents are on platforms and have a charming bucket shower outside in a 'yard' - felt a bit vulnerable with only a willow screen, but part of the experience.
Due to the animals you must be escorted to/from your tent after dark - or early in the morning. But staff were attentive and always appeared at the right time.
One surprising bonus - no mosquitos (although I would recommend covering up in the evening just in case!)
Charging points in the bar/reception (none in room).

For my opinion this is no lodge, but kind of good camping. There are two choices of accommodation: tents and bandas. The tents are very comfortable with the beds inside. The food are fixed with 4 course of menu and european kind. The stuff are polite and helpful. Nice place to stay. I advice everybody!

We stayed a total of 5 nights at the QE Bush Lodge while traveling in Uganda. The lodge, like many other lodges in Uganda, is quite remote and therefore relies on eco-friendly support for water and toilets. We like this very much because we feel like we are participating in taking better care of our natural environment.
The first 4 nights we stayed in one of their chalets. These are basically tent and light wood structures on a raised foundation. The toilet was in room but the shower and sink were outside in an enclosed garden. Showers were solar heated so tepid at best but it is hot and humid in this area of Uganda so actually felt quite good. If you are a morning shower person, you will not like this - sorry.
All meals were very good. Dinner was served out in the main open area with tables set up to match groups, couples and single travelers. Each table was lit with a kerosene lamp which gave it a very romantic setting. Dinner was always 4 courses - a lovely salad, excellent soups, main courses of fish or meat and a tasty dessert. All served by very friendly, helpful staff.
The last night we stayed in one of their tents. Very roomy with comfortable cots. Very clean shared toilets and showers just a few feet away.
Rhinos and buffalo often roam around the camp at night so we were escorted to our chalet after dinner and there were guards on duty all night to ensure safe travel if using the shared facilities.
All in all this was a very nice stay.
The lodge is conveniently located to do day trips into QENP and other areas for game viewing.

Room Tip: You can ask for hot water if you need it. Just be prepared to wait 30-40 minutes as they have to he...

We were a little dissapointed with the accomodation: de tent/room was not clean and the first night we didn't have any water. The second night only some drips. And no water to brush our theeth. For this amount of money this is a mistake we think.

The food is delicious and the staff very friendly!
Hopefully the management will change the accomodation, then it's really worth staying here. You can spot the hippo's, elephants, buffels, bush pigs and fish eagles from your room!

Very nice place, excellent trained staff. Never been served in Ug like this (ladies first, giving from the right, holding glasses of wine like it should, a waitress staying near by to come at a you slightest wink), gorgeous food, absolutely a great chef. Presentation almost perfect.
Why I gave them average rating anyway, is the poor communication.
I had problems before in getting in touch with them to get a booking done, the info on the website is not correct (phone numbers are not correct or not picked, the web site doesnt load correct, so no prices or other info available).
So my booking this time went trough the Netherlands, I never specified which type of accomodation I wanted, since I didnt know from the bad working website there is a choice.
The reply from Holland I got also didnt mention anything, just confirmed it was 80 usd for the night + breakfast.
On arrival at the Lodge, the staff asked for my payment voucher (which I didnt have, I didnt pay anything yet) and they also didnt know where to put me: in a small tent for 90 usd (full board) or in a luxury room en suite for 160 usd full board.
I got to choose, nice, but it gives me the feeling the bookings are not well managed. Also the money is a bit weird.
Anyway, the tents are really very small, but its a nice place and despite above mentioned annoyances I would go there again. Its better then Simba Lodge, the food as well as the atmosphere.

During our safari in the QENP we stayed 2 nights in this tented lodge on our honeymoon and had an unforgettable time.
The tents were very clean and spacious. The bath was outside and warm water for the shower was provided whenever asked for. During siesta time, sitting on the veranda of the tent with the view on the Kazinga Channel sourrounded by birds was a wonderful experience.
Dinner was served outside around a fireplace – very romantic. The food, usually 3-4 courses, was unforgettably great.
The staff was wonderful like on all our trip.
We can highly recommend this lodge!

We stayed here for 2 nights. It was a good stay and location for visiting the Queen Elizabeth Park. Lovely shower outside the tents, great food, nice and helpfull staff. While relaxing and sitting on the terrace you can see the Hippo's and Elephants and a lot of beautiful birds.
It was right in the middle of nature, we loved our stay.
