This was by far my favorite accomodation during my 3 weeks in Uganda. My "room" was on a platform with canvas sides (with screens) that could be opened. there was a veranda with two chairs overlooking the lake. I could see and hear hippos and elephants cavorting in the water. The outdoor shower was kind of fun. When I asked, a man brought pails of hot water and dumped them into an elevated tank which dumped out into my private "yard". The drop-toilet is inside the cabin -- you put scoopfulls of sand down the shute to prevent odors.
They even had a luggage stand (very unusual in Uganda)
The restaurant was excellent. There was a fixed menu for dinner: mushroom turnovers, pumpkin soup, roasted beef, and banana fritters for desert.
I wish I could have stayed longer than one night.
The only problem I had was that the staff decided to clean and dismantle my room before I had checked out--including taking away the toilet!

Room Tip: I thought they were all fantastic.

We stayed at the Queen Elizabeth Bush Lodge for 1 night. The bush lodge setting is really good and it was nice to sit on our verandah looking out seeing hippos. The sunset was absolutely amazing. The staff was friendly and helpful and the food good.

Third time I went here and it will definitely not be my last! The place keeps improving.

The location is great, and gives you the real feel of being right in the middle of African nature. Staff is speedy, accurate, friendly and knowledgeable. Each one in their own department. The kitchen is outstanding, the tents are spacious, beds are comfortable, the bush shower is perfect because of its simplicity and originality.

Few minor details: the eco-toilet in the room and the generator noise in the early morning could be disturbing to some people. But these are minor things that can easily be changed.

Hope the owners will take care of these few details, and the place is perfect.

We stayed 2 nights at the Bush Lodge and enjoyed it all, particularly airy mesh walls instead of solid walls of the spacious elevated tent, allowing close contact with the sounds from the hippos in the Kazinga Channel, the birds in the trees and laughing hyenas. Camp attendant walk with you to and from tents at night. Before dinner a camp fire is lit and one can enjoy making new friends drink in hand. Food is very nice, service needs to improve coordination and efficency. All the staff was very friendly but as said a bit "lost" in service. at 7 p.m. hot water is made avialable in all the private outdoor showers. During the hot midday hours a refreshing cold shower was fantastic. Meals are served at the mess tent, some tables under the canvas roof others upon request under the sky.

Room Tip: the first three elevated tents face the Kazinga Channel, the rest of the tents are facing a secondar...

Nice place to stay in this lodge. We had a lodge with a nice view on the lake and we saw the hippos and buffalos from our veranda. The tent is build on a plateau with two beds, a toilet and outside a double shower and a washing place. The people from the lodge was friendly and real Africans, they forgot some parts what you have ordered etc, but they did their best.Their are not too many tents so it is not too busy. In the evening you can charge your batteries and the telephone has a good connection (also data)
On the first arrival their was an elephant and a buffalo 20 meters from our tent, Really nice.
They food was good and every day there was a different menu.
This lodge is not the highest level lodge with a swimming pool, a big menu but it is real value for money

Room Tip: Ask for the lake view tents
