“Good value for your money”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 30, 2012

Friendly staff and clean rooms.
We stayed 1 night to take the ferry in the morning and the beds were really comfortable, the room we had small but enough! Big bathroom, with curtain and no door. This was no problem for us, but good to know maybe :)
Nice breakfast on the roof.

The area near the harbour can feel a bit dodgy at night...But still good as it is close to everything.

We have had 3 night here and loved it. Staff are friendly and genuinely helpful. Reasonably priced for 4 poster bed with mosquito net curtains, air-conditioning, hot shower, sea view, free self service tea and coffee all day on roof terrace, also used for breakfast which is excellent. There are fridges well stocked with beer, water, and soft drinks. Help yourself, write on a list and pay when you leave. Highly recommended. About 10 minutes walk from centre of Stone Town, location by harbour and fish market - which doesn't smell at all bad.

Highly recommend this place. The staff were lovely and we enjoyed sitting on the top floor veranda eating out breakfast while looking out at the sea. Only downside in my opinion is that the hotel entrance is tucked away slightly off the busy port road and as a female walking back during dusk, I felt a little uncomfortable although no problems encountered.

The staff at Princess Salme made the experience an enjoyable one. The breakfast was very good as well. The fact that you can have wireless internet on the rooftop terrace, makes this place a fantastic deal for the price. Positives: clean, a/c worked, friendly staff, helped arrange transportation to Nungwe and pickup at the airport; Negatives: it's close to the port, so there are definitely times at night you don't want to be out walking (but that's true of everywhere)

Great value of money, my bedroom was beautiful, staff were extremely friendly also very willing to help me out with looking after tours, cars and my bags when I went to Kendwa for three days.

I will definitely visit back.

Room Tip: Room No 26, good AC, bathroom and bed.

We were warmly welcomed on our arrival late at night and shown a variety of rooms. Our room included airconditioning a fan and mosquito net (all highly recommended). The rooftop has a nice view of the surrounding area including the nearby islands and is where an ample and balanced breakfast is served.

The staff were all very friendly, helpful and were willing to arrange transport and answer all our touristy questions. Free Internet was also a plus.

Room Tip: Take a room with and A/C

We were booked with this hotel, but were put into one of the sister hotels. The hotel was non-descript, and not well signposted, but the rooms were tidy and the bathrooms were tiny. The food was nothing to write home about, but the location was handy, and we were able to get around Stonetown easily.
