“This chic boutique hotel was well worth the money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2010

The service we received was amazing, right from moment we called the hotel to when we left. The room we stayed in, the Farizah was huge. It was all open planned with a wall separating the toilet. The shower was powerful with a gorgeous bath you could just sit in for hours and relax. The room had a 32inch flatscreen TV with cable. I did not realise at first but there was also a DVD player. The room had a balcony for you to sit and enjoy but the view was not terribly great. (the only low point but we are explorers so staying in the hotel is not an option so we didn't really mind the view)

This boutique hotel was situated a few minutes walk from the port but about a 5 minute walk to all the amenities, depending on how fast you walk.

There is nothing to I did not like about this hotel. It had everything I expected and more and it was the most perfect place to unwind after being at almost 6000metres high. We enjoyed the place so much that we stayed an extra night.

The breakfast was lovely and you will get the best coffee here. I totally loved it.

All credit to Co and Frans for the impeccable service and for making us feel so welcomed. Will definitely stay here again if we visit Zanzibar again.

We stayed just one night at the Zanzibar Palace, but what a stunning little hotel.
We had two suites at the top of the hotel.. and they were beautiful. Very Moroccan in style, incredibly spacious.. just really lovely.

The staff were very friendly and courteous - and a very good location to experience Stone Town. A shame we only stayed for one night - but would highly recommend this to anyone.

We would definitely stay there again.. but next time.. we'd stay for longer than just one night.

Hidden in the narrow streets of Stonetown this small husband and wife run hotel is an utter gem at odds with the crumbling masonry of old Stonetowm.
A couple of 'streets' back from the front this lies in the heart of Stonetown. Our room was almost jaw dropping with balcony over the street, arabic style decor, large bed and a romanesque bath large enough for a small football team!
Food 'top end' both price and quality wise. The small restuarant somewhat lacked atmosphere the night we dined in but we were the only ones eating that evening. We were told however by others that this was a 'rising star' on the Stonetown restaurant scene and I have no doubt given the excellent meal we had. Staff are extremely helpful (Dutch and English speaking).

The Palace is a beautifully restored authentic palace, all rooms have their own character, and are furnished with zanzibari antiques. We stayed in one of the suites that had a lvoely view over Stonetown. The restaurant is a gem, the chef an artist. This truly is the best kitchen on Zanzibar!

We stayed at the Zanzibar Palace Hotel for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is run by a Dutch couple. It is well-appointed and has an intimate feel to it. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Food was very good. The hotel is within walking distance of all of Stone Town's attractions. We were there over Ramadan so there was some street noise, but we hardly noticed it ... actually, it added to the ambience.

Wonderful stay for 3 nights, the owners were very helpful and friendly. Very conveniently located close to all part of the town. The room in which we stayed was roomy, very clean and unusual in that the bath/shower was in the bedroom with a seperate toilet. The room had an 1800's feel and I would stay in it if I go back to Zanzibar. The meals in the hotel were first class and probably the best we had in Africa over the four weeks of our trip.
