“Great food”
Reviewed June 24, 2014

We loved our dinner at Emerson Spice. It has a great view over Stone Town and the food is delicious, different from anything we ate in Zanzibar. We spend a fantastic and memorable evening there.

“Magical Rooftop Dinner”
Reviewed June 24, 2014

I ate here my first evening in Zanzibar; the rest of the restaurants I tried in Stone Town paled in comparison to the experience I had here. It is best to arrive a little early to enjoy a drink while watching the sunset. The view is spectacular as you look out over the roofs of town. The set menu is very creative, varied, and a great introduction to food and spices that are typical to this island. It is also nice that the waiters take time to explain each of the dishes and their ingredients. They remained attentive all evening, as well. I agree with other reviews that there is a lot of time between courses but I think it enhanced the experience. It gives time to unwind and enjoy your company, the food, and the surroundings rather than rushing off. This is a must visit in Stone Town for thoughtful food in a beautiful setting!

“Excellent 5 course set menu”

The quality, variety and portions of food was value for money. The flavours and presentaion was incredible. Tambi prawns, ceviche with a bungu dressing and roasted mustard coconut was fabulous. Stunning views from the top and friendly service all round.
