We were a group of five, had a wonderful table right at the window front overlooking the ocean. Service was excellent by Zanzibari standards, and the food was really good. The assorted starter platter was mediocre, as was the naan, but the seafood curry and the vegetarian dishes, the Khorma and the Tikka Masala were absolutely wonderful. Sophisticated Indian food, not overspiced, prepared in the best traditional manners. And, by the way: Do try the cocktails. We had a Mango Madras and a Jiambo something, both were fantastic (and came at half the price you'd have to pay at, say, The Livingstone). Clearly both thumbs up!

This is a great little restaurant overlooking the water in Stone Town, a short hop from the Forodhani Gardens and old fort. We really liked the food, which was tasty Indian fare. Staff were attentive and friendly. The best thing was that they served alcohol, and their cocktails were surprisingly well made.

4 of us enjoyed 3 different dishes with rice, naan & raita. It was all first rate. Service was friendly and helpful. Evening views from the terrace level were glorious. We chose to eat here because they offered beer/wine, but that was only the beginning of a really good experience.

Good food with quite an extensive variety. The staff are friendly and service is quite good for the African island. All in all good value for money. Situated in a central part of Stone Town

Great service, decent view, okay food, which we found was a little bland.
Small portions and expensive for Zanxibar = Poor value.

Location: It's right by the old fort and has a somewhat obstructed view of the water.

Food:
Salt lassi (good)
aloo chaat (good)
Some tandoori fish dish (bland)
Paneer Kadai curry (bland)
Garlic naan (bland)
Chilli cheese naan (bland)
Kulfi, which was soft serve (awesome, definitely the highlight)
Gulab jamin (okay, not great)

Wouldn't go back, would rather try somewhere else. For the cost, not worth it.
Also, there was a lunch special which was good value which they didn't tell us about but we saw on a sign when walking out.

Thank Fred S
