We stayed here for 3 nights on our safari with Swala Safaris and we loved it. The tent was lovely and very spacious with a great view. The bar area was also great and again had stunning views. The restaurant was well laid out and the food was good. We also did a complimentary walk with a Masai guide which was excellent. However what made this place stand out was the friendliness of the staff, particularly in the restaurant. By the end of dinner on the first evening they all new our names and us theirs. They were keen to help us practice our Swahili and to discuss different customs in our respective countries. By the time we left we felt as if we were leaving friends. We can't wait to return.

After to stay once at a tent camp the sense of adventure disappears.
In the case of the Kirurumu fortunately they didn´t make a very basic camp trying to give us more adventure.
The rooms and bathroom are very good only they are inside a tent with electricity, hot water and so on. Instead of a door you have a zip fastener and a padlock.
The gain for me was not the tent but the view, the service and the food. In fact the view from the balcony (!!!) of the tent was beautifull, and the food was excellent as they cook only for a small group when compared with the other lodges like Serena and Sopa where sometimes are too many people. In this case I prefer to pay a litle more to be far from the crowd.

We stayed for one night as we went from Tarangire to lake Manyara before going on to the Serengeti. We were well greeted on arrival with towels and fresh juice and promptly shown to our tent. We had a lovely distant view to lake Manyara from our balcony. Our tent was tastefully decorated and had good facilites. We slept at night with just the gauze down on the front of the tent which was lovely and cool and allowed the morning sun to flood in. The food and service in the restuarant was as good as i have had anywhere in the world. Not large portions but beautifully cooked and flavoured. The waiting staff were numerous and very attentive. The lodge is 6km up a rough track through a populated area. The only negative for us was that on the night we stayed there there was a non animal commotion at about 1.30 am which ended with some shouting, dog barking and flashing lights.

Room Tip: We were in room two and we were not aware of any other tents at all, such was the secluded design of...

My mom and I spent 2 nights at Kirurumu in Feb, 2012 while exploring Lake Manyara National Park. It's situated on the Great Rift Valley escarpment and, once you turn off the highway, you bump along a typical 'African massage road' for about 20 minutes before you reach Kirurumu. Each party gets their own cabin and ours had a beautiful view of Lake Manyara and the Great Rift Valley below. The cabin itself was on the rustic side but we loved it. It had running water, a toilet and shower. The food and service were excellent. Although it's situated in the bush, we felt very safe because Masai warriors patrolled the grounds 24 hours a day. I'd highly recommend Kirurumu!

Room Tip: We were lucky enough to get cabin 2 (Duma, which means cheetah). Absolutely stunning view from our v...

Wonderful view, wonderful food, professional staff !!!
It is a tented camp, but, actually, with all comforts of a hotel.
It is a very good base for safari in Manyara Lake Park or during trips to Ngorongoro o Serengeti parks.

Stayed at kirumu lodge which overlooks lake manyara, it was an amazing setting, very secluded and private. A good 15-20 minute drive from main road - you seem to be heading into the middle of nowhere but was worth it when we got there. Our lodge room (23) was bigger than our house - the first floor had a bed and balcony then downstairs there was a shower room which resembled a cave, a day bed and 2 further massive balconies. It was also really windy and all the tent zips were rattling about so we were woken in the night and had to secure them.

Dinner was extremely nice - soup, beef, mashed potato & veg then lemon crepe but service felt really rushed. Staff all very friendly and polite. It was a very quiet affair here - the bar was empty before and after dinner but was still nice to have a drink over looking the lake. Price very reasonable - Paid up 20500tsh for drinks (2 x wine, 1 x beer, 1 x water, 1 x orange). Our room was located a fair walk away from reception and walk back at night required a torch as it wasnt lit very well.

Definitely recommend staying here, it was an interesting experience, amazing views, with a room we'll never forget.
