“Wish we'd booked more than one night...”
Reviewed August 1, 2012

Unfortunately we had only the one night at Kirumuru Tented Lodge. Wow! What a setting & views! The tented lodges are so far apart it gives the utmost privacy, lodges are very well kept, with 3 double beds, which were the comfiest of all lodges we stayed in during our safari. Bar and restaurant also with great views. Food excellent, and staff very keen to please. We were staying in lodge nr 25, Meru. Great views from terrace. Noted not all tented lodges had this direct view. Whole tented lodge experience was great, much more feel of being in/with nature. Highly recommend!

We stayed in this lodge 1 night on our safari in May, 2012. We loved the whole experience here. The Massai staff that carried our bags were very friendly, and they escorted us back to our tent at night also. The "tent" had a wonderful entrance landing that overlooked Lake Manyara. What an excellent view. The tent was equipt with a king bed, and a single bed, some nice furniture in a sitting area, and a very large bathroom. We enjoyed sitting on the patio overlooking the lake with a sundowner. What a great way to end the day. The food was plentiful and varied. The whole lodge was very well maintained, and the tent was spotless. This was our first tented camp, so what a pleasant experience. the free computer access was a nice touch to be able to check in with home. We would highly recommend staying at this lodge.

Overnighted 1 night in June 2012. Can't think of a single thing to fault. From very friendly staff, to spaciously furnished permanent tents - which considering their age - were beautifully maintained and well kept. Beds were big, comfortable, crisp linen, mozzie nets, impeccably clean floors, warm, clean showers, ample space to off load your gear. Cherry on the cake is the verandah - looking out onto Lake Manyara and the very well placed bar area where you can just lose yourself in views ahead and around you. Dining room small and intimate with tasty food and more than enough to fill your belly. Tents are well positioned providing plenty of privacy. A gorgeous camp - will definately visit again - for longer.

The tents were fantastic. We had three double beds, a lounge area as well as an outdoor sitting area with an unobstructed view of the Lake and Rift Valley. The bar and dining area were well set up and the food great. Not too far to get to the Lake and valley for the drive.

It would have been nice to have a door on the bathroom and some toiletries available for our use.

This was our first overnight of a 7 day/ 6 night safari we took with Safari-Infinity. My adult daughter and I just loved this place and would happily return. We were in tent 26 with an AMAZING view of the valley in front of us. The tents are spread out very far apart, so even though there are 27 of them, we never heard or saw our neighbors. The photos on their website do not lie! The food was amazing (we were given a menu to choose from), the service impeccable, the tent was clean and very spacious, and the bathroom & shower were impressive. Since we had been volunteering in Moshi for a month prior, this was our first decent hot shower since we left the US, and it was very much appreciated!

My only regret was that we were there for only one night. We also stayed at another Kirurumu property in Tarangire (separately reviewed) and they were our 2 favorite places to stay. I will definitely stay at Kirurumu Manyara Tented Camp/Lodge again when I return to the area.

Room Tip: We were in tent 26; it was a hike from the reception center, but worth the GORGEOUS view and we felt...

By far our favorite place during our 11-day trip in Tanzania! The tents were very comfortable and gave you ample room to spread out your gear. The in-room bathroom facilities were nice as well - especially after 3 days of rough camping! The bar area offered an excellent view - definately worth a visit. Dinner & breakfast were good, but the highlight was the friendly waitstaff. Wished we could have stayed longer!

We really liked this place, the staff are great. The tent was a really good size and the bed was comfy and big! Its really nice to sit at the bar and look over Lake Manyara, you can see all the people doing night drives because of the lights!
In the morning we opted to go on the walk, although the guide was very knowledgeable, it is probably not something we would do again.
Lovely stay.
