If you're from the North Country, there is nothing new to say about the Fairground, Same menu for years, and for a good reason. The food is tasty, the portions large and the service is top rate.
The dining room at the Fairgrounds, even when not full, feels crowded with close together tables. Comfy or uncomfortable, depending on how your neighbor has his chairs.
They have a huge selection of sandwiches up to full steak dinners.
I'm a sucker for French Onion Soup, and this is the place to get it! The cheese on top was soooo thick and the broth so tasty.
We visited on a Sunday, which happened to be the day that dinners from the Italian selections were all $2 off. So I decided to order the Italian Combo for only 10.99. Lasagna, manicotti, a stuffed pepper, spaghetti and choice of a meatball or sausage. A huge plate of delicious Italianess. (In fact, mine came with both a meatball and a sausage.) It was more than I could eat, so I brought home lunch for the next day.
My wife ordered the Grilled Chicken dinner. Other places call this smothered chicken, with peppers and onions and cheese. Very tasty.
My only little whine would be what my wife found at the bottom of her salad plate when she was finished with it. A butter wrapper was stuck to the bottom side of the plate. We had not used any butter yet, so it belonged to a previous diner. The dish washer needs to do a better job.
