We have a great two day visit as an add on to our vacation on Praslin. We normally stay at the 4S, however at over 1500EUR a night for a room, we decided to go with the Hilton at just over 500EUR a night instead, especially since we had 2 rooms. We were upgraded to 2 villa ocean front rooms and they were very nicely appointed and had spectacular views. The only downside is the a/c unit is in the entry way and the cool air doesn't make it to where the bed is so it tends to be a few degrees warmer when sleeping. The staff was terrific and the amenities such as paddle boarding and canoeing and snorkeling were nice to have. The food was great and the buffet breakfast a great value. Two negatives that warrant a very good instead of excellent:
1. We felt constantly pushed by staff members to book a tour or driver and that they would set it up. Everywhere we went on the property, the staff members kept saying, you need to do this tour or that tour, we can get you there. It was very pushy and gave me that feeling that we were staying at a super touristy-mid level hotel where the staff gets commissions or a kickback on how many tours they set up.
2. The woman's restroom next to the bar smelled horribly of mildew. I can understand mildew being a problem on the island, however this was horrible. You needed to plug your nose to use the bathroom. This could have easily been rectified with a deep clean and some air freshener to keep the smell under control.

Otherwise, great hotel for a terrific value!

My husband and I have just returned from a week in the Seychelles at this lovely little resort.

On arrival, there had been a lack of communication so the hotel was unaware of our Hilton diamond member status which was a bit disappointing. However, in the end we were given a room upgrade with a spectacular view and a fantastic large balcony where we enjoyed a few wines most nights while watching the sunset. Marvel was great at assisting us.

The resort is very small but set out beautifully and is very quiet and peaceful. The beach area is small but a great place to go snorkelling, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding. They do run the shuttle bus to Beau Vallon beach too so if you fancied more of a beach day then this was an option.

The food was average. We found the buffet breakfast very good with plenty choice without being overwhelming! At dinner time it did get a bit 'samey' towards the end of the week. The drinks are very expensive, even the water. At lunch we ate at The Ocean View bar which is a beautiful setting. The service here took a long time even though the staff are all very pleasant. We waited nearly 30 minutes for a drink one day and twice they got our order wrong despite us being one of two couples there. We found ordering room service in the room to be faster. However, we are fairly relaxed about these things - we are on holiday after all and not in a hurry to do much!

The spa is small but we pre booked our treatments in advance and they were amazing! The therapists we had were excellent and we were extremely relaxed.

Overall - It is a lovely resort for a week maximum. Staff are all very lovely and we had a lovely stay. Quiet and relaxing in a beautiful setting.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with sunset view

Lovely hotel with very helpful and friendly staff. The lagoon was a particular highlight as it enables snorkelling amongst some very beautiful fish without having to go very far out! Our room was not ready when we arrived, but this was dealt with by the front desk staff with courtesy and professionalism. I was not too keen on some of the evening entertainment - particularly the karaoke - but this is obviously a personal choice!

We spend 5 day in this really paradise on the Seychelles. The Hotel stuff was always very kindly, helpful, polite, and have a smile what is a gift in our times. The villa with the infinity pool was a dreamalnd, alwys clean and well ainconditioned. The ocean view was fantastic, Highly recommended even with this price.

My wife and stayed two nights at the Hilton Northolme Resort at the end of our "babymoon" to the Seychelles. We came from a week on Praslin, and were looking for a nice finish to our trip with 2 nights on Mahe.

I booked the first night free through my HHonors rewards (I'm a Gold member) and the second was a combination of cash and points.

To my incredible surprise, our room was upgraded to an oceanfront villa, which was beautiful! We stayed in the over-water bungalows at the Hilton Moorea in French Polynesia for our honeymoon, and the Hilton Northolme Oceanfront Villas are even nicer. The rooms were clean, beautifully decorated, spacious, and offered extremely comfortable beds and very nice bathrooms. Everything worked well, and the patio was a great place to read a book and enjoy the waves.

The rest of the resort is beautiful and offers some nice privacy with different areas to lounge and relax. With the smaller plunge pool and small beach area, this is definitely a resort that caters more toward adults and couples, although kids would find the snorkeling and beach areas enjoyable. Note: we did not venture into Beau Vallon, but stayed on property for the full 2.5 days.

Things to Note:

THE SPA
The spa is in a beautiful location at the end of the property, overlooking the ocean. We had a great experience with a couples' massage, and they allowed us to freshen up in another room prior to our appointment. Really great service overall, but there was no hot tea upon arrival or "locker room" area which is consistent with other spas. Think of it more as a few small massage rooms.

THE POOL AREA
Small, but with very comfortable lounge chairs including some larger lounge beds for multiple people. Always a supply of clean towels and umbrellas were available, although the large umbrellas were somewhat difficult to use. The pool is quite cold which is nice on a hot day, but is more of a plunge pool for relaxation. Very beautiful!

THE BEACH AREA
We loved the beach area. Hilton has set up some lounge chairs above the ocean with access down to the small beach. Snorkeling gear, kayaks, and paddleboard gear is available and free-to-use. The snorkeling is excellent in the immediate area and watching the sunset from the chairs was something we did both nights. Be prepared for mosquitos, and there are a lot of ants from the trees nearby.

THE RESTAURANTS
Hilltop restaurant was excellent for breakfast. Almost too many options, and the omelette bar was really good (and produced large omelettes). We looked forward to breakfast each day. We did not try the dinner buffet.

We ate lunch and dinner at the indoor/outdoor bar area the first day, adjacent to the lobby. It's a beautiful location that offers live music 3 nights a week. They have a large, diverse menu full of salads, sandwiches, burgers, etc. The food is good, but it is very expensive compared to other restaurants in the Seychelles (Think $24+ USD for a hamburger). The high prices are slightly justified as the food comes from the kitchen of their nice restaurant, Les Cocotiers.

We ate dinner one night at Les Cocotiers which was a tremendous surprise. If you stay in this resort, you must eat here! The food is delicious (I had the ribeye), the portions are big, and the prices are extremely reasonable compared to the bar area. You could either get the seafood pizza from the bar, or you could get a delicious steak from Les Cocotiers, for nearly the same price. The service was excellent and they have a great wine list as well. Highly recommend, and my compliments to the chef.

LATE CHECK-OUT
On our day of check-out, our flight leaving Mahe was not until nearly 10 PM, but we had to vacate our room at 11:00 AM as is the hotel's policy. They tried to allow a late check-out, but our room was going to be occupied by another customer the same day. Again the hotel staff surprised us, and allowed us to move to a separate room for the rest of the day until we left to the airport at 7 PM. This allowed my (7 months pregnant) wife and I to relax and get cleaned up before we departed the island. Just a tremendous and unexpected service.

Overall, we had a great experience that truly felt like our second honeymoon. Service was top-notch, and every single employee said hello and had a smile on their face. Gregory, the GM, greeted us at check-in which was a very nice touch, and everything after check-in exceeded expectations.

Highly recommend this resort, and looking forward to returning in the future!

Room Tip: Rooms closer to the lobby are quiet and have a shorter walk from the pool/beach areas.
