Lovely hotel with very helpful and friendly staff. The lagoon was a particular highlight as it enables snorkelling amongst some very beautiful fish without having to go very far out! Our room was not ready when we arrived, but this was dealt with by the front desk staff with courtesy and professionalism. I was not too keen on some of the evening entertainment - particularly the karaoke - but this is obviously a personal choice!

My wife and stayed two nights at the Hilton Northolme Resort at the end of our "babymoon" to the Seychelles. We came from a week on Praslin, and were looking for a nice finish to our trip with 2 nights on Mahe.

I booked the first night free through my HHonors rewards (I'm a Gold member) and the second was a combination of cash and points.

To my incredible surprise, our room was upgraded to an oceanfront villa, which was beautiful! We stayed in the over-water bungalows at the Hilton Moorea in French Polynesia for our honeymoon, and the Hilton Northolme Oceanfront Villas are even nicer. The rooms were clean, beautifully decorated, spacious, and offered extremely comfortable beds and very nice bathrooms. Everything worked well, and the patio was a great place to read a book and enjoy the waves.

The rest of the resort is beautiful and offers some nice privacy with different areas to lounge and relax. With the smaller plunge pool and small beach area, this is definitely a resort that caters more toward adults and couples, although kids would find the snorkeling and beach areas enjoyable. Note: we did not venture into Beau Vallon, but stayed on property for the full 2.5 days.

Things to Note:

THE SPA
The spa is in a beautiful location at the end of the property, overlooking the ocean. We had a great experience with a couples' massage, and they allowed us to freshen up in another room prior to our appointment. Really great service overall, but there was no hot tea upon arrival or "locker room" area which is consistent with other spas. Think of it more as a few small massage rooms.

THE POOL AREA
Small, but with very comfortable lounge chairs including some larger lounge beds for multiple people. Always a supply of clean towels and umbrellas were available, although the large umbrellas were somewhat difficult to use. The pool is quite cold which is nice on a hot day, but is more of a plunge pool for relaxation. Very beautiful!

THE BEACH AREA
We loved the beach area. Hilton has set up some lounge chairs above the ocean with access down to the small beach. Snorkeling gear, kayaks, and paddleboard gear is available and free-to-use. The snorkeling is excellent in the immediate area and watching the sunset from the chairs was something we did both nights. Be prepared for mosquitos, and there are a lot of ants from the trees nearby.

THE RESTAURANTS
Hilltop restaurant was excellent for breakfast. Almost too many options, and the omelette bar was really good (and produced large omelettes). We looked forward to breakfast each day. We did not try the dinner buffet.

We ate lunch and dinner at the indoor/outdoor bar area the first day, adjacent to the lobby. It's a beautiful location that offers live music 3 nights a week. They have a large, diverse menu full of salads, sandwiches, burgers, etc. The food is good, but it is very expensive compared to other restaurants in the Seychelles (Think $24+ USD for a hamburger). The high prices are slightly justified as the food comes from the kitchen of their nice restaurant, Les Cocotiers.

We ate dinner one night at Les Cocotiers which was a tremendous surprise. If you stay in this resort, you must eat here! The food is delicious (I had the ribeye), the portions are big, and the prices are extremely reasonable compared to the bar area. You could either get the seafood pizza from the bar, or you could get a delicious steak from Les Cocotiers, for nearly the same price. The service was excellent and they have a great wine list as well. Highly recommend, and my compliments to the chef.

LATE CHECK-OUT
On our day of check-out, our flight leaving Mahe was not until nearly 10 PM, but we had to vacate our room at 11:00 AM as is the hotel's policy. They tried to allow a late check-out, but our room was going to be occupied by another customer the same day. Again the hotel staff surprised us, and allowed us to move to a separate room for the rest of the day until we left to the airport at 7 PM. This allowed my (7 months pregnant) wife and I to relax and get cleaned up before we departed the island. Just a tremendous and unexpected service.

Overall, we had a great experience that truly felt like our second honeymoon. Service was top-notch, and every single employee said hello and had a smile on their face. Gregory, the GM, greeted us at check-in which was a very nice touch, and everything after check-in exceeded expectations.

Highly recommend this resort, and looking forward to returning in the future!

Room Tip: Rooms closer to the lobby are quiet and have a shorter walk from the pool/beach areas.

I'm not sure where to begin, but I'll try to explain our experience at Hilton Northolme.

We had the best stay ever at Hilton or at any hotel actually.

It started with a personal welcome from the manager him self. Then a complimentary upgrade into a ocean front villa (fabulous view).

A bottle of sparkling wine and fruit on the room as a welcome gift.

The most friendly and service minded staff we ever meet at a hotel before.

The chef who made a delicious vegetarian meal for us upon request and when we're about to pay they told us it's on the house.

I'm a diamond member within Hilton and so is my wife and this was our honey moon.

I have nothing negative at all to say about our stay that lasted for 4 days!

Thank you Gregory and thank you to the whole team! They've all done a wonderful job!

5 star out of 5 !!

Well come back.

Check in: Honestly the hotel gave me and my husband a VERY bad first impression. This is our 2nd time to Seychelles and we decided to try out the Hilton Northolme resort for the first time.

Coming from Dubai, we had to take a very late flight which arrived super early in the morning (6:45AM) so we were absolutely exhausted and beyond sleep deprived.

Upon arrival we were welcomed very kindly and were offered some juice and water and wet towels. After that the receptionist took us to the main reception and told us the room would be ready in about 90 minutes.

It was about 8AM so that meant that we would have our room at 9:30AM. We went to have breakfast in their restaurant and finished around 9:15. We then went back to the receptionist wasn't so kind all of a sudden and we were informed not only that we would we not get the room until 2PM but on the last day of our trip we would have to check out at 11AM.

Even after we told them our flight back home is at 11PM they told us sorry this is how it's going to be ! I don't know with what sense they expected us to stay for 12 hours with no room. We understand that hotels don't allow checkout at 11PM but they didn't even offer a late checkout option or anything of the sort. Later in our trip we found out that we can pay 200 euros to checkout late in time for our midnight flight.

Location: The hotel is located in an excellent part of Seychelles, with Beau Vallon only a walking distance away and the airport conveniently 24 minutes away.

Size: The resort compared to others is reasonably sized. Big enough to feel secluded and relaxed but small enough to be able to walk everywhere in the hotel. I'm not sure if the hotel has a tennis court or something of the sort because no one really gave us a tour or showed us the facilities we found out by exploring ourselves. The facilities we found were the gym, spa and a small gift store.

Breakfast: The breakfast buffet is like any regular breakfast buffet, not super special or unique, there was no breakfast menu just an open buffet. There was a nice live egg station which made eggs in every shape and form including eggs Benedict. There was not much fruit but a good selection as well as a fresh juicer machine which I loved. Also, a good selection of bread, cereal, and juices.

Seychelles is a beautiful country so no matter where you go expect a beautiful view, the view was lovely but the only issue which some people might mind was the fact that there were many birds flying in and out of the restaurant.

The people in the restaurant were very nice, and showed good manners and they even told us that the meat is halal which was great since we're Muslim and it respects our religious diet.

Dinner: Our reservation came with a half board option. A free dinner buffet was held at the hilltop restaurant. It had a theme every night which wasn't much different for each night only with a few dishes falling under the theme. The food wasn't tasty and had little flavor, probably because it was being heated with a candle. But the best thing in the dinner buffet was the live cooking station where you choose your protein and sauce and the chef cooks it for you within minutes. Truly delicious !

We ended our stay by having dinner at Les Cocotiers Restaurant. We ordered the seafood platter at it was absolutely divine, reasonably priced and very delicious food and we got 40% off our order for having a half board reservation.

Beach: The hotel has barely any beach but the small peace of beach was very beautiful with a lot of fish to see and very nice for snorkeling. We did how ever think that our ocean villa would actually have access to the ocean but it's just a villa from which you can see the ocean. You have to go to the reception to access the beach. There is also another small beach access closer to the villa which we stayed in (404) however it wasn't nice and well kept without anything to really do.

They do offer a daily shuttle bus to Beau Vallon which is a famous public beach in Seychelles. Beau Vallon has a lot of activities and restaurants to enjoy.

Room: We got the Grand Ocean Villa with private pool and it was absolutely stunning. It was big with many places to lounge and relax both inside and outside the villa. The washroom had the most incredible whirlpool jacuzzi and a lovely shower. The body gel the hotel put for the room smelt so so good. I truly enjoyed how big the villa was and it made me really feel at home. My only issue with the room was the AC, because everything in the room works with sensors sometimes the sensors of the AC confuses your need for it to be. Speaking of sensors even some lights were sensors! There was one light that turned on every time you moved on the bed. This was kind of annoying because I'm one to roll over a lot before actually falling asleep. The wifi in the whole resort was very slow, but wasn't much of an issue for me who came there to relax but my husband did find it annoying for business. But generally speaking the villa was very high tech and beautiful inside and out. Not to mention the villa was very private which is exactly what me and my husband wanted.

Pool: Our villa came with the most stunning private pool. It was big and has the most beautiful view of the Indian Ocean.

Room Service: Everyday when the house keeping cleans the villa they gave two complementary water bottles. But if you finish them and ask for more the hotel charges you, which I didn't very much like. The in room dining menu is nice and we found ourselves using it a lot because only 1 out of the 3 hotel restaurants served lunch and we didn't particular like menu of that restaurant.

Spa: The hotel spa receptionist gave us the worst treatment I've ever seen. Whenever we would call from the room no one would pick up. We had to physically go to the spa to book treatments but when speaking to the spa receptionist she was cold and unhelpful and didn't want to answer any of our questions and told us the spa only had two ladies doing the treatments and all of them were busy. We also asked if there were any packages or special offers and she said there was none and when we went back to the hotel we found a menu and paper with all the offers and the packages. I found this quiet odd for a hotel which had the word "spa" in its name. At the end we ended up going to ANOTHER hotel just to get a relaxing spa day.

Dinner: Our reservation came with a half board option. A free dinner buffet was held at the hilltop restaurant. It had a theme every night which wasn't much different for each night only with a few dishes falling under the theme. The food wasn't tasty and had little flavor, probably because it was being heated with a candle. Overall I really enjoyed my stay at the Hilton Northholme resort. I felt sad to leave it and I would definitely go back again.
