We spent 2 nights here. The stay was overall very good. From reservation till check-out the service standard was outstanding. Rooms were well equipped, spacious and comfortable. My only criticism is the food - most times it was semi-warm.

The Jury may be out in respect of the architecture of the hotel accomodation exterior, however the reception area was just what is needed when fleeing the Rat Race, a cool drink with a view to the Ocean, although partly obscured by Lush vegetation surrounding the gardens, a haven ( Not quite Heaven ) most importantly, the ambience of the Hotel soothes the soul, the beauty of the beach is hidden, but amazing, a wonderful walk several times daily, there are strong currents along parts of the beach but not a problem for snorkelling the flippers make a huge difference, the Hoby Cat will be excellent once the safety Rib arrives, snorkells/kayaks all free. We shot down for a long weekend, staff all excellent, food fine, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, peace tranquility harmony and restrained activity, just the ticket, if you want to stretch yourself walk up the Hill to the Cafe on the Rock, I gave up halfway up, those who want total watersports go to the North resorts, although one Dive company only 15 minutes drive. We loved our shortbreak probably an added advantage as out of season, obviously some niggles as newly opened hotel, location of swimming pool a bit odd, pool itself fine long and straight. Breakfast good could be better, locals will guide you to the best Creole restaurants, will definately return. Beware low tide coral scrapes / cuts inevitable so most bring rubber swim shoes if not using flippers, hotel shop does roaring trade best selling item! Will still return.

Room Tip: We preferred Ocean View which on the first floor but the foliage obscures the view which only partia...

I read a view reviews on Tripadvisor and decided to take my wife for a well deserved short holiday and birthday to the Seychelles .She really enjoyed and her first reaction was to that she want to stay for longer .......even a next time .
I view things was just irritating .The Seychelle beaches is not the typical beach island long stretches of sand .It is a rather small 3m very steep incline type of beach with quite rough waters .There was a lot of currents which made swimming not easy .
The Arab owner of the land who has a private spot on the same premises is not a good ad to the hotel .Guards warn you on the public beach not to take photos of his house or to even walk near his house ......according to them private.
The expat staff was really nice .It took some time to get to know the local staff and chat to them
Rent a car and do some driving around .Visit Victoria .and eat at some of the local restaurants.Food at the hotel is extremely expensive .

Room Tip: Choose a bay view room

We spent 4 nights at the Kempinski Seychelles - the hotel is ugly on arrival - looks more like a school or hospital - very grey/brown and not sympathetic to local architecture. The arrival throught the jungle is great - but you can't really see the beach from the hotel. Saying that when you get out onto the beach it's a breath taking bay and there is enough room for all the guests to spread out.

Rooms - more like a business hotel then resort.. We had to take two rooms as boys aged 6 and 8 deemed too old or too big to sleep on a mattress with us - which would have suited us better. room didn't have enough storage for big bags and we kept tripping over each other. Our was a garden room (much cheaper than beach view) and it was nice looking at the jungley garden.

Dining room - sometimes felt like we were sitting in reception area as they don't seem to have enough outdoor seating they put table around the corner. Food was average and repetitive.

Half the hotel seems to be having renovations works (odd as it's a new hotel) and the dining room felt really busy - it will be very full in the buffet when hotel at full occupancy.

Staff very nice - but made to wear silly hats - that look ridiculous on most of them - get rid of the hats!

Good kayaks, surfs skis to borrow for free - fun in the waves. One hobby cat but no safety boat so not in use.

Pool - very long and nice to swim in - but you can't access it from the beach side and nowhere to wash the sand off.

We enjoyed our stay - but we went out of the hotel every day exploring - I wouldn't want to spend all my time at the hotel.. it's just too functional and needs to relax it's decor a bit..
Would we stay there again - probably not...
.

Room Tip: Garden facing to save money!

Very good hotel overall, especially liked the following:
-mini bar is full with complimentary drinks when you arrive
-breakfast is excellent although you have to ask waiter for eggs/omlettes (nobody will propose it to you)
-room is very large, clean and comfortable
-kids club is very small but very nice, it works from 10 to 17

But note:
- very distant from airoport, taxi transfer will cost you 50 $ min (same price to rent car for 1 day)
- hotel is under construction so some facilities are closed, sometimes noisy (e.g. giant turtles can not be seen)
- hotel territory is rather large and if you are travelling with small kid you probably need a stroller (buggies do not work for simple transfer to/from the breakfast)
- did not like following features in the room:
1. floor is very cold, not very comfortable to walk barefoot (escpecially for kids)
2. too many blankets and pillows -probably you are expected to put conditioner at maximum (as I caught cold on the 1st day it was annoying to me as you have to try hard to find simple summer blanket)
3. there is no towel/clothes dryer available on the balcony thus you have to put all you wel clothes on balcony railing and they are easily blown away
4. light can not be switched on in bathroom only as you have central lighting switch, this is very annoying at nigh (you have to take lantern if you go to the toilet)

Located on the south side of Mahe, away from the main tourist areas it provides nice privacy. Kempinski pulled out all the stops in the design with ample spaces to kick up and enjoy any of the long list of cocktails.

Room Tip: It is worth spending the few dollars extra for the beach facing rooms. If travelling with kids get a...

Spent 6 days at the Kempinski and must say I was very happy with the overall expeirence. Staff was amazing and so was the resort itself (despite some small construction going on). One thing that could be improved is the evening entertainment and also the Wind Song pool bar. A little music would create a more holiday feel.
