This was the thirteenth Four Seasons we have stayed at and it easily boasted the best view and lodging of any of them. We had a Hilltop Ocean View Villa and almost didn't need to leave our villa due to the amazing view of the bay and beach. Each night we were treated to a new painter's canvas of the sunset depending on the position of the clouds. We have so many beautiful pictures. The villa itself was magnificent. I felt like I was in the trees. It was spacious with a huge bathtub and comfortable couch I almost fell asleep in many times. The best feature was the so-called dipping pool that was bigger than many hotel pools. Everyday I swam in the pool among the trees and listened to the jungle sounds and enjoyed the view. The beach was absolutely amazing. The Seychelles is a bit more relaxed than say the Four Seasons in the Maldives, but our initial concerns about service were more than addressed. I recommend the Creole dinner. The resort is very kid friendly and we had no trouble bringing our infant. The rolling crib was a nice touch because I could bring her to our shaded deck and she fell asleep in the fresh ocean air and sound of the waves. I did too!

Room Tip: Splurge for the Hilltop Ocean View--the views are better and it is less humid due to the ocean breez...

I have just enjoyed a short stay at Four Seasons {we wanted to experience a couple of hotels whilst in the area - hand picked for us by Seyexclusive} and had the most wonderful and relaxing time.

we stayed in villa 116 which is incredible - the vastness of the two room villa with gorgeous large infinity pools, separate living area, outside shower and private balcony as well as large sun terrace and day bed lounging area - the beautiful tranquil stillness of the hillside villas that are all cleverly and un imposingly dotted around the hills that are oh-so private and so stylish are perfect for a group or family holiday.

{tip - as the villa rooms are so large the air conditioning temperature has to be turned down to a very low temperature and the speed very high for you to feel it and the doors must be kept closed.}

There are so many extras in the rooms to make your stay super comfortable - from the beautiful dressing gowns, slippers and beach bags and umbrellas for those unexpected tropical showers to super simple things such as UK plug sockets in the bathroom

This was the only hotel we stayed at on the island that had fabulous mosquito nets around the beds - such a great idea and very welcomed!

Styling is Ralph Lauren meets island chic, an eclectic and stylish mix of interiors with shades of white and colour pops of turquoise and pinks.

Laid back vibe of the Kannal Bar with its over sized day beds and super comfy chairs set around the large pool with a superb view of the beach. We had lunch and numerous cocktails there and everything was so tasty and fresh (the fish and chips
Which is a total Seychelles take on a British classic) is a must.

There is a really great buggy service {with the lovely buggy boys!} but you do sometimes have to wait a while so make sure you book your buggy with time to spare..

There are some lovely dining options at the hotel including the fabulous Zez restaurant where you have breakfast and we also had dinner there one evening (try the scallops and the red snapper they are both local and absolutely wonderful) and the sushi restaurant which is incredible {make sure you try the tuna and California rolls}.

The spa is straight of the pages of Vogue. textures and smells fill the space and really do delight all of your senses I tried the Lake massage a 60 minute piece of heaven and the view! We had champagne on the first night and watched the sun go down. Just wow.

The beach is incredible with the emerald green shallow waters that are as warm as a bath and sand as soft as cashmere. You are offered complimentary cocktails, water, cold towels, sun lotion - basically you name it.

We will definitely be coming back for a longer stay and can also totally recommend our tour operator Seyexclusive who arranged absolutely everything for us including the transfers from the airport and onward destinations.

Room Tip: We stayed in a two bed hill side villa which was incredible.

We stayed at the Four Seasons from 04 February - 15 February 2013, having celebrated our wedding in Cape Town, South Africa on the 2nd February. The BMW limo service that came to fetch us early in the morning was absolutely brilliant - serving hot coffee and pastries as we enjoyed a leisurely chauffeur driven trip to the resort through what felt like a tropical rain forest on the other side of the Mahe. Upon arrival we checked in at our Hilltop Villa - a process that took somewhere in the region of 10 minutes while the friendly staff explained the various aspects of staying at the Four Seasons Seychelles.

The resort is absolutely stunning. The Villa (610) we stayed in has an almost ridiculous view of the ocean, lush tree tops and the hills surrounding the area. We had a giant outdoor shower, private infinity pool (it’s listed as a plunge pool, but at probably 6 or 7 meters by 2-3 meters it really does feel like a private pool - so much so that we barely ever used the main pool in the resort). The room is elegantly appointed, if not entirely over the top with plush white bedding contrasting the natural wood furniture. I would describe the villa as luxuriously comfortable without seeming out of place against the natural backdrop of a lush hill-side.

Due to the fact that our villa was quite high up on the mountain we had to take a buggy down to the beach whenever we felt like going, or to visit the resort's restaurants for meals. This in itself might sound inconvenient, but we never had to wait more than 5 minutes, and the buggy drivers are extremely friendly and polite - addressing us by name practically every time they saw us, on top of the fact that they are very efficient. We even encountered one of them off the resort while we were visiting a nearby cafe, and he came over to greet us. The service from the buggy drivers was exactly what I'd come to expect from the Four Seasons brand and I commend the Four Seasons for this.

Unfortunately this lofty standard of service did not always filter to every single member of staff. A couple of examples:
- the breakfast service, having moved from the main resort restaurant to another one due to construction work, was inconsistent at times
- Some front desk inefficiencies (missing dinner reservation, missed wake up call)
- There could certainly be more or at least more attentive staff at the pool area (mangled lunch order, very few staff on duty)

Having said this do believe the issues above were anomalies as on the days they got it right (which is practically all the time), they got it very right. These (in retrospect) minor issues certainly did not mar our stay or enjoyment of our honeymoon in any more than the most trivial way. We are extremely happy overall with our stay at the Four Seasons and would highly recommend it to fellow travelers.

Room Tip: Villa 610 is simply incredible.

I'm so glad you enjoyed your time in our "Slice of Paradise." Thank you for choosing us to spend your honeymoon. We recently went to the Seychelles and on one of our daily excursions in Mahe, decided to visit the Four Seasons Resort.

We arrived there and were greeted by a helpful and friendly guard, unlike many of the other characters we had encountered at hotels and restaurants in Mahe, and he directed us to the hotel.

We headed down to the beach and found it to be one of the most spectacular beaches on the island. The water is like a swimming pool and you can float for hours over the gentle swells. For a small fee you can enjoy the hotel amenities, including beach deck chairs, hourly snacks and juices, some of the water sport equipment and towels The service was excellent and the food, snacks and drinks were absolutely delicious.

The beach has the added attraction of a great point around which you can snorkel, all in all we had a fantastic day there and would love to stay there on our next trip to Mahe as the food and hospitality far outshone a number of other places we visited.

Been sitting at the beach now for over 30 min while multiple staff members see us waving them down after being ignored, then turn the other way like we dont exist. Been asking for conditioner in room since sunday. Ice takes hours to be delivered to room. Took 3 times asking for mosquito repellant, brought only after we were asleep and awoken at 10pm. Trash from room service left outside overnight every day.
Im a fan of four seasons and property is gorgeous, but for $1200/ night, I expect basic service, let alone luxury that Ive paid for. Buggy drivers and fiorello th bartender should be running this resort- theyre the only ones who understand hospitality. Have yet to see a manager around. Ill stick with Hilton for my next vacation.

This was my first reaction when I saw this hotel with little cottages spread across the beautiful mountain range across from sea with pure white sand beach. We actually did not stay at this hotel but to one which is very next to it Kempinski. Comparing both would not not right since the price difference between the two is too much. Four seasons is Luxury who can afford. We took a tour of this facility and they showed us the Royal Villa bundled with best if class luxury, infinity pool, Bose systems and other things. It goes as high as 4000 Euros per night !!!
Staff was very inviting and made sure we get our little tour on time and with great comfort.

Dear Gl0betr0ttersIN,

Thank you so much for your "spacey" review of our Resort! I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit to the Resort. Rest assured, we do have plenty of lower-priced categories of villa than the Royal Suite. I hope you can join us for a stay in the Seychelles again in the future.
