“Magical holidays”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 10, 2013

This is such a special place! We knew from the entrance that it was going to be hard to leave...

The common parts were well designed and the room was certainly one of the most comfortable we have ever seen. Everything was well thought out with an incredible attention to details. The bathroom was, without any doubt, the best part of the room with an amazing bathtub and a view on the bay.

I have simply no word to describe the private infinity pool.

The hotel is surrounded by a long white sand beach, one of the most (if not the most) beautiful we have seen in Seychelles. The service on the beach was also excellent with complimentary water and fruits.

Only few small points of improvement:
- It's not pleasant to walk around the resort as all the roads are made for buggies;
- Food was good (specially on breakfast and on japanese and creole nights) but not exceptionnal.

But, actually, our major issue was that we felt so good about the hotel that it was difficult to leave this place to visit the island!

Thank you Four Seasons for these magical memories.

Room Tip: Go for a hilltop villa. Our room 415 was really nice and private.

Dear Georges_AS,

Thank you for such high praise of our little piece of Paradise. Unfortunately without the hills we wouldn't have the beautiful views, but they do mean you have to rely on the buggy service, if you are in the villas in steeper parts of the Resort, unless you are super fit!

I'd love to hear some more detailed feedback on our food, if you have a moment to drop me an email to Alex.Porteous@fourseasons.com. Any suggestions from our guests' point of view are always well received.

I hope we can welcome you back to to Seychelles again soon.

With warm personal regards,

The property is perfect- only a few years old so everything is new and well maintained and styled in a modern manner. We ended up spending ALL of our time in the room, lounging outside of the villa in the lounge chairs or in the private pool. We did spend one afternoon down at the beach, but with the privacy and convenience of the villas there was no need to go down at all. The gym was also very modern and well equipped.

The only problem was that the service could use a lot of work. It takes FOREVER for the villa to be cleaned- each time it was at least 2hrs. We'd try to time it so they would do it while we were at breakfast or at the gym, but even after killing 1.5+hrs they would STILL be hanging around "cleaning". I guess it is partially because of inventory control reasons- the person cleaning had to note all items to be replaced, and it would be slowly delivered by a colleague from room food/services dishware or mini bar refill, towel/linen services, etc. UTTERLY slow. Also, lots of times we ordered food and it was not 100% correct- fish curry was instead chicken curry (not even on the in villa room service menu) with no explanation, an order of green tea was instead black tea... and we speak with a very generic American television accent.

The spa experience was also not particularly positive- we had "Blissful Connections" as a couple and really could not wait for it to be over after 150 min. Not particularly relaxing or well done.

Breakfast was a mix of a little of everything- cold items such as cheese and hams, breads and sweet baked pastries, eggs made to order or the typical rich potatoes and sausages, and a rotating on a daily basis type of "Asian" rice/noodle/fried item option. At breakfast you would run into who else was staying in the resort- a split of couples or large young families.

We also took a "dinner on a beach" and I guess how it goes really depends on the weather. For us it was scatters of rain, which was bearable, but the wind kept blowing out the torches so we were basically sitting in the dark, the tides and waves kept getting higher as it became windier, while the person managing our food and experience was struggling to serve everything in time. But he worked hard to turn a bad-weathered situation around.

Pickup service and drop off at the airport with the hotel's car was very pleasant and no problem- always ready with a hot pot of coffee and a bamboo basket of mini muffins and other rich chocolate baked treats.

In general, even though service was an issue for cleaning the room and ordering food, the property is AMAZING so we would stay again without a doubt if we return to Seychelles.

Dear Peachtreec,

Wonderful to see you had such a wonderful stay with us. I'm sorry to hear that you felt our housekeeping service was slower than you would have liked, but I hope the result was up to your expectations.

It is most unusual to hear any negative comments regarding. The only thing I can think is that perhaps that there was a disconnect between you and your therapists, which is why you did not feel the full benefit of this treatment, which is usually received with nothing but praise.

Despite this, it is heartening to see that you are so keen to return to us in the future. It would be our pleasure to welcome you back.

Travelling through the islands to write a feature for an upmarket yachting magazine we stayed here for just one night. It was enough to convince me that I would love to stay here longer. Quiet, private villas set in the jungle like garden staggered across a hill side overlooking a pristine bay. Great Beach, wonderful food and very attentive staff. Complaints? Gosh no not really but one word of warning! If you want to enjoy the wonderful view from your stunning bath set it to run long before you plan to get in it. It is deep and voluminous and takes for ever to fill. But sitting back with a glass of champers among the bubbles it is well worth the wait.

Well, my husband and I are now ruined for all other vacations having spent a week at the Four Seasons Seychelles at the end of our honeymoon. I can't imagine that anything else will ever compare! We stayed in a hilltop ocean view villa. We will never forget the moment that we walked into the villa. Floor to ceiling windows everywhere you looked, looking out onto our private decks and plunge pool, perched atop the most dazzling view of the most beautiful aquamarine ocean bay and verdant cliffside. The staff had drawn a bubble bath in the enormous marble tub for us to enjoy the moment we arrived (of course the bathtub also had enormous windows that allowed you to feel like you were outside amidst the beauty). While we greatly enjoyed that, that was the only time we used the indoor bathing facilities, given that the villa also came with the nicest, most luxurious outdoor shower that we had ever experienced (of course, the shower also has an unimpeded view of the ocean). The decor of the villa's interior was also absolutely perfect. Stylish, yet classic. Beachy, yet luxurious. Just absolutely perfect. We had debated between this property and some properties in the Maldives with overwater bungalows. Although we are still keen to visit an overwater bungalow resort in the future, we are so glad that we selected this property for our honeymoon. The remote cliffside locations of the villas offered an unmatched level of privacy. We felt as if we were staying in our own private cliffside property, but with all the amenities of a Four Seasons hotel.

We also cannot gush enough about the quality of the service. This property truly makes the Four Seasons name proud. The staff anticipated our every wish -- and often offered things before we even realized we wanted them. Every member of the staff deserves kudos.

We also greatly enjoyed the food and the setting of the restaurants. We ate every meal onsite except for one excursion to Maria's Rock Cafe, which we also recommend.

All in all, this was a fantasy vacation in every way. Everything a honeymoon should be.

Room Tip: The extra price for a hilltop ocean view villa (as opposed to standard ocean view) is well worth it...

My wife and I spent five nights at this resort on the last leg of our South Africa/Seychelles honeymoon. We had a hilltop villa and were astounded at the view on arrival: it was incredible! Lush jungle and tall cliffs all around, with Petite Anse a perfect sliver of white sand at the bottom of the bay - just fantastic.

The villas are very well furnished and huge inside and out - the gazebo and the pool area are particularly impressive. We spent most of the days sunbathing, swimming in our pool and gazing at THAT VIEW!

We ate in the resort each night. Overall the food was good, but not great. The buffet night at Kannel restaurant was excellent, but the a la carte was a bit disappointing as the small portions left us quite hungry after the meal. The Zez sushi lounge is a great option to have, but could be expanded to make it more of a restaurant in itself. We also had a meal in our villa. The staff did a great job of setting up a lovely romantic table on the verandah, but the food itself was quite ordinary considering the price. Dining is definitely something the hotel should look to improve, as it doesn't meet the high standards set by the rest of the resort.

The spa, on the other hand, was just fantastic - you couldn't get a better location and the treatments are wonderful. Enjoying a post-massage bath watching the sun set over the Indian Ocean is something we will never forget.

Finally, it's worth mentioning that the staff really do go out of their way to make your stay perfect. As an example, the barman at Kannel bar let us stay after the bar closed to finish our game of pool and even arranged for room service to send us some more Seybrew beers - really impressive service!

All in all this is a great place and a holiday you'll never forget. One final tip - the Creole mojitos at Kannel bar are definitely worth a try!

Room Tip: Hilltop villas have the best views, but all villas are the same spec and layout.

We spent the first half of our honeymoon at this hotel. We were very impressed on arrival, we were offered cool drinks and several key members of staff introduced themselves to us before we were whisked off to our room. They had made a special effort to cater for my husband's food allergy which was appreciated.
We paid for a hill top villa, ours was probably the lowest of all within this price range but it did seem to be a little more private (nearly all the villas are overlooked by the spa at the top of the resort) The accommodation was of a very high standard and looked beautiful. We were welcomed with a honeymoon cake, fresh fruit, pink champagne and a lovely full bath.
The standard of cleaning was a minor let down. Whilst the room wasn't dirty there were little grubby bits on the floor in places and odd smear marks on some of the windows, it wouldn't have been hard to avoid this! Similarly we weren't very impressed by housekeeping. The lounger cushions by the pool were put away in the evenings (except for a day when they forgot!). On a few days housekeeping didn't visit us until around 4pm, this is not ideal if you want to spend the day in your villa with no outdoor towels and an unclean pool. Similarly, the cover on the gazebo bed was never changed and was increasingly covered in little lizard poops!
The buggy service which you cannot live without was generally very good with buggys arriving within 10 minutes, on a couple of occasions we were waiting for nearly half an hour though, again a minor issue which the hotel could have easily dealt with! The drivers were lovely and friendly though!
The biggest disappointment for us was the in resort dining options. The restaurants are priced along the same lines as fine dining establishments in the uk which we were prepared for, unfortunately the food doesn't match up. One evening I ordered a chicken dish and my husband sushi. My dinner came out half an hour before his and we were forced to eat separately. On top of this, my chicken was slightly bloody in the centre and we were charges for a more expensive sushi dish than we ordered. This kind of service is appalling from a cheaper restaurant let alone one with the prices we were charged!!
Despite this we did enjoy our stay, the spa is amazing, the beach beautiful and clean and the rooms of a high standard. I have left such a detailed review as a lot of this minor issues that left us with a bad feeling could be so easily rectified.

Thank you for leaving your feedback with us. I'm so glad you loved the look of the Resort, and noted the attentive service from the team. Most of our guests really appreciate the customised service that we can offer by getting to know them and noting their preferences, but perhaps you did not experience the results of this as you were unfortunately only with us for one day.
