“Nice experience”

We went with the family for a week of SPA and relax and we got it. The facility is amazing. The rooms and the view are great. Our kids (9 and 6) had a wonderful time using the kids club. They were practically the only two kids with 4 very charming ladies for them.... However the level of the activities and specially for a pre teen are not enough to keep them excited for a few days. As the two were together they enjoyed it a lot. The food was very fresh and well cooked. However there was not enough variety in the two restaurants available and the sushi alternative. The special nights helped to add alternatives. the SPA is great. Excellent views and skilled hands. All in all a good experience perhaps a little bit to expensive for the features (besides the place and the facility) that it provides.

We spent 5 days in this hotel and I am running out of superlatives for it. It was magnificent. We arrived early morning (around 7 am) because our flight was at dawn, and the manager immediately came to greet us and welcome us, he was very very kind. They then offered us free breakfast, because we had come in early and the room wasn't ready (because it was earlier than check in time). The room was ready 3 hours early after breakfast. And for the 5 days we got magnificent service, views, food, drink, we even did windsurfing, kayaking, paddle boarding, and surfing lessons! They helped us with outdoor excursions, and the spa was magnificent.

Overall one of the best holidays of my life thanks to this resort.

So much good has been said about the Four Seasons Seychelles that there is not much to add at this stage, only to say that for our ten year anniversary, my wife and I decided to go back to what has become our favorite spot outside Europe.

I had a slight doubt at first, as we arrived early on a cloud laden morning of March. Alex, the GM, who came to greet us very nicely saw my concern. 'Don't worry' he said, 'by mid-morning it will have all cleared away'. It certainly did. The thick clouds gave way to glorious weather for the whole week of our stay, with virtually uninterrupted sun, albeit a little breezy at times, which was rather pleasant considering the heat.

The whole resort, the villa, the level of service was as good as I remembered it to be three years ago, but with obvious improvements as well. For example, I remember that back then, at the beautiful beach, you were pretty much left on own. No longer, as there were regular treats on offer, mostly complementary, such as a delicious fresh coconut with rum, or someone who would come to clean your sun-glasses, even spray a little cooling water on your face should you require, etc..
The service at the restaurant has also much improved, as I remember to be very slow, even a little uncaring. No longer. You are warmly welcomed and looked after for the whole meal.

On the subject of restaurants, there was one setback I feel I have to mention, which was our dinner at ZEZ, where we only dined once as the dishes were surprisingly disappointing. The ingredients were fantastic, but poorly prepared, with a main course of seafood, overwhelmed by a very salty tomato sauce. What I did miss was the possibility of ordering as selection of simply char-grilled meats and fish, though I believe there could be, on the cards, a new restaurant in the resort offering just that. Let's wait and see..
They do organize theme nights, at the the other restaurant, and I do remember an indian meal, which was one of the best I ever had.
The chef will also prepare a specially ordered meal, for a special occasion, and will meet you beforehand to discuss it. He has done a fantastic job and understood exactly I requirements. The meal, a simply grilled local seafood bonanza, brought to our villa, was a feast beyond words, and a beautifully prepared table with candles, on a bright starry night, life seemed sweet indeed.

So to conclude, as mentioned before, this was our favorite resort anywhere, and it still is, perhaps even more so this time. This place could even be dangerously addictive, almost one of life's necessities, be warned. On this, I'd better save up to go back!

Thanks to Alex for his warm welcome, and the whole Four Seasons team who work their magic at every single moment.

My wife and I choses ZEZ restaurant for our 30th anniversary celebration and it was simply amazing. We were staying next door at the Kempinski yet when we arrived, the staff greeted us by name and wished us a Happy Anniversary. By chance we met the Resort Manager, Bob Suri, who also greeted us warmly and upon hearing our name also knew of our special celebration. Bob graciously arranged a buggy to take us on a tour of this stunning resort. Our evening at the Four Season's ZEZ restaurant was an unforgettable experience. The food and wine pairings were stunning. The restaurant even features a "Chocolate Room". Not kidding - the entire room is decorated in chocolate. We met the Pastry Chef who was understandably proud of his creation. Bob stopped by several times to make sure everything was going well. We appreciated his kindness. Thanks to all who made our evening so special. Now to start saving our money for a return vacation at the Four Season's Seychelles.

Room Tip: This review is for our experience at the ZEZ restaurant.

I spent several nights here on a work trip. I have stayed at many Four Seasons and other hotels, but this has to be one of the very best. I was shocked by how lovely the villas were. The views are wonderful - as is the beach itself. The beach is probably the best on Mahe. The hotel is amazing in its own right, but it is head and shoulders above any other resort on the island. The staff are very helpful indeed - nothing is too much trouble. There is even a delicious sushi restaurant. As a sushi lover, I was prepared to be disappointed, but it was absolutely first rate. The tempura was as good as anywhere in the world. I thorougly recommend this hotel and I shall return.

this resort is paradise, great staff, great grounds, great food, great beach - if they would do better in enviromental work (avoiding all these plastic bottles- do a better job in laundry service using biogratable products ...) and helping to keep the nature healthy they could easily be the role model of all the resorts of the islands of the indian ocean!!!

The Four Seasons has one of the best beaches in Mahe, Seychelles. That itself makes it worth the stay. The Villas with their private infinity pools are simply amazing - but they come at a price. It is very expensive.

While at the Four Seasons we had some problems in our Villa - brown water from taps. The staff tried their best to solve the problem but it did not fix. However, they took great care of us in return. From the hospitality managers, the buggy drivers and the reception staff, they all looked into it personally and were extremely courteous while handling the situation that spanned over 2 nights (till 1 am). Not a single person got angry or was rude. In compensation, they upgraded us to the Presidential Suite and treated us to a private dinner in our Villa (as we were on honeymoon). Therefore, all though there was a problem with the Villa, the way they took care of us was highly appreciated and therefore we loved staying at the Four Seasons. After leaving the Resort, the Manager even called to check if all was okay with us.

It is also special that they always greet you by your last name. They also had cake and champagne in our room upon arrival for the honeymoon couple. Definitely worth the stay, specially if you are on honeymoon!

Room Tip: Pick a Villa that is as high up as possible - they have the best view! Villa 117 is super!

Dear 2013Travel_Companion,

I'm sorry that your stay got off to a less-than-ideal start with problems with your villa, but it's great to see we could turn it around into the stay of a lifetime.

We're very lucky to have one of the best beaches in Seychelles right here at the Resort, and spectacular villas dotted around the bay, to make the most of all the spectacular views. I am also lucky to work with a fantastic team, and it is clear from your review that they made you feel very special, on this very special honeymoon stay.

We hope you will come back to see us again. It would be our pleasure to welcome you back.

With warm personal regards,
Alex Porteous
