When you visit the Tropical Attitude Hotel forget about star ratings. The standard of management and quality of staff is top class. Their easy going attitude to life belies the work ethic and attention to detail they all have. We believe the all inclusive package is just right and only enhances this stress free and totally relaxing experience. The Mauritian people have a warmth of personality and integrity you no longer find in too many parts of this world which is, Tropical Attitude.
We will see you all again next year. Thank You.

This is our second visit to this hotel, the first being eight years ago, and it was just as lovely this time as the memories from our previous visit. The hotel is small and has quite a family feel about it.the staff, without exception, are efficient and friendly and they go out of their way to assist in any way they can. The food is plentiful and well presented but please don't go there expecting chips with every meal. Food choices are purely personal but if you are not pleased with what is on offer they go out of their way to help and you never go away feeling hungry. A thoroughly enjoyable two weeks. There are three pin plugs in all rooms but no irons as yet.

Room Tip: A room with a sea view and the higher the room number the further away from the bar, so therefore qu...

my wife & i stayed here a few years back, but friends of ours have told us recently its still lovely. we wnt with kuoni great in every way,
when we arrived we were greated by the manager & other staff members, we had champagne & strawberies, we were taken to our room which was on the ground level with a great view of the sea & beach coral, while we were left to unpack there was a knock on the door, they had left refreshments, chicken fish, meat, bread & cheese & buiscuits and another bottle of fiz, and some fresh orange juice, WOW. we had some food and then went to find our way around, its only a small hotel & only a few meters from the beach, the swimming pool is just the right size, beds & chairs around the pool and on the grassed area in front of all the rooms, there is an inside reastant & one where its lookes out onto the beach with all the sliding doors open its really pleasant to dine, the food was really great sometimes set meals and other days buffet, drinks were all great anything really that you wanted. the staff couldnt do enough for us they treated us like royalty, there was a water taxi/boat owned by the hotel that had a glass bottom it would take you out into the coral reef & you could dive with snorkle to look at the fish & coral, even my wife tried, but be aware if take a bread roll from the hotel, and break it up when in the water the fish will feed out of your hand, but it did attract a few too many fish for my wifes liking ( small sharks etc ) the boat man said they were harmless..
the boat also took you out to the beach area ile aux cerf, you just have to go & see it paradise, you will see what i mean, (have a look on google earth) its even better when youre there tho.
we met a french couple while we were there and we all decided to go big game fishing, what an experience, we went miles out to sea which took about two to three hours, when the captain was happy we started to fish there were staff on the boat that looked after us & god did we need looking after, ive fished both lake & sea in the uk but nothing prepaired me for this, we cought all sorts of fish, tuna, darado, shark, sail fish and some that id never heard of before, mark the french guy cought first a huge tuna that bled all over the bought, there was blood everywhere, the wifes couldnt look, when i shouted to one of the staff that i had somthing he felt it and straight away put me in the chair actually strapping me in, it took about an hour to get the fish in it was huge a sort of sail fish they said, it was as long as i was tall 6ft. and weighed well my arms were ready to fall of, we had a geat day and when we arrived back at the harbour we were asked what fish cuts we wanted, we had cuts of tuna, shark & some of the sail fish, it was all cut into lovely portions and put on ice, when we got back it was nearly time for evening meal, i asked one of the staff for help with the fish, i started to explain that we had been fishing & here comes the manager with one of the chefs, he said go & get ready for evening meal and that he had a table set out for us, while we were showering & getting ready a knock at the door, there was a waitress with a bottle of fiz and some glasses and she asked if we were ok with garlic and lemon derssings etc for the fish, we met the french couple at the bar area, the manager asked were we ready to be seated, well we couldnt beleive what they had done there was plate after plate of fish all prepaired in diffirent ways, fab really exellent, my wife and i were convinced that they thought we were someone else like some sort of important people royalty or something, they just made the whole holiday,
we will defo return in the future, a really great holiday made all that much better by lovely staff. thanks all esp, kuti our waitress

We stayed here in Sept. Chose the hotel as it was in a quiet location and this didn't disappoint. On arrival and after a friendly greeting from the reception we were shown to our room. All ok until we opened the patio door and what seemed like a force 10 gale whistled through! The outlook was lovely but sadly the wind on many days made it hard to sit out comfortably ( at least for us) on the sun loungers provided., and evenings could get quite chilly too. It was the first holiday we've ever had where we turned the air con off for the duration of the stay, and on the first night as there was only a sheet on the bed, the blanket came out and stayed there for the whole holiday. Fortunately the hotel provided daytime trips over to lle Aux Cerfs island so we were able to take advantage of this and enjoy less wind whilst there. The island is lovely especially when you follow the pathways away from the main hub of sun loungers restaurants etc. We always went to a remote spot, took roll up mats, and lay on the beautiful beach well away from the crowds. On many occasions it was like we were the only people there. The hotel offers yummy free picnics ( the gorgeous filled rolls were one of the highlights of our stay! See below) We also had a very good full day trip which included a visit to a local tea plantation, tea tasting then onto a rum tasting and vanilla and anthurium farm (where fresh vanilla pods could be bought) plus a very nice sit down lunch and visit to a crocodile farm ( which besides the crocs, housed all sorts of other interesting wildlife including huge tortoises )We don't usually do trips but this one was excellent value, plus you were not dropped off and left for hours, or taken to lots of touristy traps, which is very annoying and the reason why we don't go on trips normally. Our guide Vikram was an excellent host for the day and kept our little group happy - 10 of us all together, 5 couples, from different hotels and some English, some French. Needless to say new friends were made in a small friendly atmosphere. A smashing day out. We celebrated our anniversary whilst at the hotel and they certainly took care of us and we enjoyed some lovely treats that we will remember always. Big thanks to all the team for making our anniversary one to remember. Everyone works so very hard to make sure you have a great holiday. The only criticism we have was that the food in general was a bit of a disappointment. Breakfast was good. Big hug to Karen the 'egg lady' she did a fab job. We couldn't understand though why the bacon had to be hidden away and asked for, although I guess it's probably a good idea as some people can be very greedy and take huge portions so maybe that's why. Also on our second week it was busier guest wise, and the lovely waffles ( and waffle iron) that were made every morning on the first week disappeared second week. Most of the limited meat options during lunch and particularly dinner where of a stew/mild curry style, and the fish was usually Marlin ( in salads, stew or as I mentioned earlier the sandwiches, which ended up being the highlight food wise of our holiday) As there was a cooking station with chefs sometimes present, it would have been lovely to have something happening at it. It would have been very nice if there had been meats or fish grilled on its own on the griddle rather than always in a stew. Although I accept the hotel is 3 star, a little more choice and variety would have made the holiday perfect. I have to say part of our holiday experience is enjoying our meals. It was a tad disappointing for us personally. There were some evenings where it is al a carte but then again only two options each time, and we found often due to small choice there wasn't anything we really fancied. Sorry, but I guess everyone is different. All in all we had a pleasant relaxing holiday on the lovely island of Mauritius.

My husband and I have recently returned from 2 weeks at this hotel and it was the right choice for us. It's a small hotel, spotlessly clean, very well run, and with excellent customer service. The rooms are wonderful with brand new digital air conditioning, fabulous sliding glass doors directly onto the beach and great black out curtains. The free snorkeling trips and free transfers to Ile aux Cerfs are an added bonus, as is the picnic lunch (free) that you can order the night before if you are going out for the day. This hotel is on the windy side of the island which suited us down to the ground - not a single mosquito bite in two weeks!
The food is plentiful, and beautifully presented; my husband struggled a little on the nights (4 out of 7) when the evening meal was a choice from a menu rather than buffet service; however, a quick word with the staff meant that they prepared something plain specially for him. The staff really do want you to enjoy your stay and will do everything they can to accommodate your wants and needs. There is not much beach and you can't snorkel directly from it, but if you walk left a few hundred yards around the corner there is a beach that you can snorkel from. Bertie in the boat house was fabulous and he organised two catamaran trips on the other side of the island for us that i would definitely recommend, but I'm glad we didn't stay on that (much hotter) side of the island. There are no products in the bathroom so make sure you take your own soap/shampoo etc. They ask that you dress for dinner so gents, please pack some long trousers.
I highly recommend this hotel if you are on a budget. There are no hidden extras, it is excellent value for money and the attentive service is second to none.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms are on the first floor, so request a ground floor room if you would prefer to be a...

Well, what can i say about this excellent place. Words can not describe how i feel about this hotel. From the moment of check in to moment of check out we felt like we were relations of the hotel staff. We were met by Mohan and given a drink and a towel to cool off after a long flight. The staff are thje most wonderful people you will ever meet, i would love to list all the names of the wonderfall staff but i would run out of word space. Sunhil, sanjoo, and suraj are fabulous in the restaurant and bar - never have an empty glass. All the cooks especially vikash and karen are exceptional - heard bad reviews before coming about the food, ignore them, the food is fabulous, if you find it to bland spice it up with the chilli paste. My mum is a fussy eater and they went out of there way to provide food for her. They also organised a birthday cake and flowers.

The free boat to ille aux cerf is a must do. This island is pure paradise. Spent most days there, also go see robert and john in ther boat house, they will ensure your holiday is spent seeing as much of the island as possible and doing lots of activities.

The spa is also a must do activity - lovely people doing nice relaxing massages.

The thing that is making me come back next year is that you are a name and a person here not just a number.

We had a lovely holiday and the Tropical was an excellent choice. Good food, great service and free boat trips daily to the beautiful island called Ille aux cerf.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone as because it's a small hotel the atmosphere is a lot more friendly than other hotels and after a couple of days you get to know people and feel totally at home there.
We were very sad to leave and will definitely return in future.
Weather was good and it only rained once and only for 30 seconds so can't complain.
Excellent, excellent, excellent

Tropical Attitude with its gentle way of life is a 3 star sup "Adult Only" hotel, recently renovated and smartened up, built in the middle of a garden planted with coconut trees and right on the lagoon.
