Found this restaurant by accident when walking around on our first day in the area. Opted for a lunchtime visit and was well worth it. Overlooks the sea and a boated area used by the local divers. We also had the sorbet and there is nothing wrong with it. If you don't like beetroot then it obviously isn't for you but otherwise it is a perfectly edible intro to the meal and you don't pay for it. My wife and I ordered two local Phoenix beers and made our choices of calamari and yellowfin tuna. Both proved to be excellent dishes with the tuna getting the vote. We finished off with the 16 spice creme brulee which was an excellent change to a standard one. Total cost in region of £70.
More expensive than some of the other places in the area but you certainly don't need to get anywhere near £150 as previously stated in a review !!

I am incredulous as to how this place has received such positive reviews. It's like they must've been eating in a different place! We were also recommended this place by our hotel also. The decor is very nice albeit there was no atmosphere as the place was virtually empty. But that's not a big deal if the main event that we came for was any good!!
And so into the food. An awful amuse bouche of beetroot sorbet. Followed by some bizarre crab cocktail concoction with salty foam on top and as a main 4 prawns and some stewed pinto beans. We gave up the will to live at that point and asked for the bill. We had no alcohol and all of the above came to £150!! Let's be clear, we eat in plenty of great restaurants around the world but I don't think we have ever felt as ripped off as we were by this place. The service was also just depressing. Solemn and mildly rude, verging on indifference.

We arrived just as the kitchen was about to close for lunch- and the staff were highly accommodating considering our tardiness! We ordered fresh fish which was lightly spiced and extremely flavorsome. Beautiful setting, sitting out gazing at the ocean. The only downside was the number of flies, though our waiters tried to make it as pleasant for us as possible by bringing in candles and a fan to try and ward them off. All in all, a wonderful experience and we are sure to be back again!

My husband and I went out and though we were desperate to find a restaurant during the end of year season...Le Pescatore was waiting for us..table for two...by the sea..light breeze.. superb decor..dim light ..just perfect when you want to get away from common restaurants....
Le Pescatore restaurant made us feel that time stopped and it was unbelievable how much it was nice to talk to my husband w/o tv..mobile or any other disturbance. We tried the Saveurs Marines...and you should try it... the service was so lovely..nice and comfy...We did nt felt odd at any point in time and if you are passing by Trou aux biches..make sure you jump by Le Pescatore..
Wishing you happy New Year 2017..and looking ahead to go for another long night out dinner with my family...

My wife and I stumbled upon this restaurant on a walk near our hotel. We were recommended to book a table so we did. When we arrived we were politely greeted and seated at a table outdoors but under cover. We ordered a set menu meal which was 4 courses plus breads, sorbets and little chocolates after the meal. When we ordered we noted that my wife is lactose intolerant so the waitress ensured us the chef would change the sauces etc to suit. The food was amazing, each plate came with great descriptions and instructions for the order in which to eat. This is a fine dining restaurant, even though it's always warm in Mauritius it's advised to wear neat clothing, not shorts and sandals.

We will happily revisit next time we are in Mauritius!
