“Good location but terrible bathroom”
Reviewed January 7, 2013 via mobile

We payed for that better room- privilege. The room looks like on pictures, but bad is that pictures cant provide smells. The bathroom is really terrible. In The shower it smells really bad- like mold. The cabinet under sink -it is like pandorra's box :D do not open :DD and the towels- we have only two big(today i asked also for two small) and they smells like someone forgot them for one-week in washing machine.
Wifi is only close to reception- only up to about 5m from reception.
I will write another rewier when i will be back.

– ROOM BOOKING : We booked our rooms on November 28, 2012 and clearly told the Reservation Executive that we have a 2-month old baby. One of our requirement was that we get a room on the ground floor and close enough to the restaurant as we have a baby carrier. We reach the hotel around 14:15 (December 31, 2012). The room that was assigned to us was on the second floor. Our nightmare starts here! With my baby I had to walk around for more than 3 hours to finally get a ground floor room. Also note amount I had to pay was different to the invoice I originally received by mail from the reservation desk.

– WATER SUPPLY : There was a really water shortage and that without even caring to let the residents know. I had to boil water in kettle to be able to give my baby a bath. I have 24hr hot water in my house, and to be in a 4-star hotel boiling water for shower is ridiculously unacceptable.

– BEVERAGE : The variety of drinks was very limited. Only one Whiskey available which was a very cheap end choice. Even though we were on the all-inclusive package we would not mind paying extra for better drinks, but the barman said that this was the only whiskey he had available. Again for a 4-star hotel, this is a great disappointment!

– FOOD : On both January 1 & 2 we noticed that both the breakfast & lunch were very much based on the left overs from the night before dinner. I do not want to even think that this is a common practice in the hotel.

– FOOD POISONING : A family member had a food poisoning on December 31. Not only that there's was no first aiders on the hotel but the staff is not prepared at all for such situations. No transport or information were available to us to where can we seek medical assistance.

– ALL-INCLUSIVE OFFER : On our reservation email it is mentioned that the mentioned offer includes "local drinks". We were surprised that this offer is for a specific time of the day. To me this is false advertising together with a very poor communication to your clients. One of your barman even asked money to my 10 years-old nephew when he went to get a juice.

– STAFF : Although very helpful, we noticed that some of them were working both day and night for the 2/3 days. There was definitely not enough staff to cater for the service on the NYE.

I am not going to even go into complaining for the entertainment, front desk office, room service etc...

For me, the worst is that this place is a total disgrace to the tourism industry and is giving a very bad image of our country, trying to sell as a paradise destination. I have talked to few non-local residents of the hotel and they were very unhappy with the service too.

Room Tip: Never choose this hotel.

We save our hard earned money and plan our annual vacation to Mauritius and land in place like Indian Resort courtesy our travel organiser yatra.com saying its a 4 star hotel and resort.( they also cheated charging us money for 4 star hotel )

Trust us , nothing can be far away from 4 star! I believe I should share evidence why I say so.

We check in and find AC is not working in our room . When we request for attending the problem , we are told this can be attended only next day as repair people have left.
So here we ask for change of our room , the manager says the hotel is 100 percent occupied. After spending 2 hours pleading and requesting we are given a different room.

Alas, the next day we find the water in washroom is rationed ...no water from 1100 hrs to 1500 hrs. Imagine our situation, we had gone for swim and on return to room can't even have a shower . Forget about getting hot water in washroom .
Perhaps that would have been asking for luxury !

You may have overlooked these issues, if food would have been any better. We had a hellish experience of one guy serving for not less than 50 guests .....no clean table, no clean culinary , no replenishment of food .....the list goes on !

We came to know AC , water was a perennial problem from many guests , honeymooners staying there.

Now you decide for yourself if this place is worth spending your hard earned money !

we are back from a one week holiday at the Indian Resort &Spa we can say it has been our best holiday so far. We have travelled a lot around the world but we would like to say that from the Management of the hotel to the serving staff it was a five stars service. Those who have put their comments below,i wonder if they have ever been in a four stars property. A big thanks to Mr Dave, Miss Swapna, the F&Beverage Service Manager and also the Spa service for their precious contribution for making our stay a very memorable one.
We will definitely recomand this hotel to our friends and relatives and we will surely come back again by the end of this year
Keep it up and may god bless you all
as you are all on the right way

Room Tip: Very spacious and beautiful rooms

Well, We arrived on New Year. The Rooms System is Complex and the WIFI Service is lousy (NO Wifi is available in the rooms). The food was good. I brought my ASUS Transformer Prime TF201 and they don't even provide multi-plugs for charging it. The TV only has the 3 local channels, and in mixed English, French, & Hindi programs. It takes forever to check in. ALWAYS Check the weather before going as a tropical cyclone appeared. The water even went off for a while. I would not recommend.

Six days of just a trickle of water coming out of our taps and today no water at all...what kind of hotel is this? Also, our clothes were taken from our ground floor balcony and the explanations given didn't make much sense. The view is gorgeous and some of the staff really nice, but nothing can make up for the lack of water.

Will update review when I get back to England...am absolutely DESPERATE to leave...
