Simply Wonderful! A perfect holiday. Charming Manager and staff. Our 4th stay here and 10th with this hotel group. Warm welcome. Great rooms on perfect beach. Brilliant evening buffets. This hotel never feels crowded: well spaced out, lots ot do. Enjoyed tennis (great pro), fitness classes, gym, spa, watersports, cycling, golf, swimming etc.

Check room location... I love the ones facing the reef. Food best in the main restaurant and in the Blue Marlin.

Lots for all the family to do. We all adored this trip...and will be back. 99% of the staff are very friendly, professional and helpful.....only a couple of the the golf course staff lacked warmth and customer service skills.

Look out for fruit bats feeding at night.

Concerned that over past 20 years there are far fewer fish and the coral reef and bay look far less healthy.

Room Tip: I prefer the ones quite a walk from reception..along towards the villas, facing the reef (rather tha...

We had our probably best family holiday here. The kids club had alot to do with that. It is the best we have ever come across. We have 3 young children and we couldnt get them OUT of it ! They did fantastic and varied activities. As a result we had lots of grown up time. The pool and grounds are lovely but as with many of these hotels there are never enough lounge chairs so the battle begins early to get chairs; The restaurants are several and very good although the buffets were not the best I have had in a luxury hotel. The rooms were very spacious and had large balconies. The beach is lovely although a little over invaded with private boats. Overall a very nice hotel and a great holiday. We would happily return.

What a Beautiful setting, however for the money there are many excellent alternatives. Watch out for deceptive staff who use the 'language barrier' as an excuse when underquoting you; from something in the mini-bar, to a hair-do or even an extra nights' stay! The souvenir shop manager bumped into my sister and asked her to get me to contact her to pay for my bill!! When she had undercharged me for a pencil! Leaking toilets, power tripping every day, incompetent tour operators....The hotel manager underquoted me by some 200% on a room, laughed in my face then utterly refused to accept responsibility & threatened to charge the money to the Bride & Groom's room if I didn't pay! Expect cold food in the buffet, chef's that hardly smile let alone try to assist, out-dated facilities & rooms (circa 1980's), poor channel selection, disgruntled staff etc. Beachcomber should be embarrassed - I would return if a 'under new management' sign were erected at the front gate. If it weren't for the lack in friendly, professional & competent staff, in addition to the old facilities & overpriced rates this would be a great stay.

Room Tip: Avoid an outdated hotel, spend your money on another destination. Fiji, Thailand etc.

My husband, 6 year old son and I recently stayed at the Paradis Hotel and Golf Club (mid September 2011). We had a Club Suite - one of only 4 rooms in the hotel. The rooms were huge, as was the bathroom. The room was cleaned whilst we were at breakfast and a generaly tidy up whilst we were at dinner. The latter was important as we had brought in sand from the beach and they also used this as an opportunity to replace the beach towels, re-clean the bathroom and get the beds ready for the sleeping. Wifi is complementary but is very slow.
We had the half-board food option. We ate breakfast at the main restaurant (Brabant) and the Blue Marlin. Brabant has a larger selection of food however the Blue Marlin overlooks the Indian Ocean. It is quieter and a far more pleasant environment to enjoy a leisurely breakfast. We also found the staff to be more attentive at Blue Marlin.
The dinner options are extensive. A new menu is released daily for each restaurant. Brabant has a buffet each night but with a new theme. On occasions, this was good however my husband and I are not buffet people. As such, we ate at the other restaurants and chose the half board menu. We found this menu to be exceptional. The variation, presentation and quality of food is extremely high. We ate dinner one night at Dinorobin. We did not enjoy this experience as this restaurant was not ready to greet customers nor was all the food available. Hugely disappointing.
The kids club is outstanding. The kids club uses all the facilities of the resort to ensure your child has a similar experience to you. My child tried water skiing, had a lesson with the golf pro, went fishing, and went out on the glass bottom boat to see the coral. Some of the activities I attended, some I did not. The activities are engaging and interesting and no dependence on technology for entertainment other than the odd movie. This is good as I wanted my son to enjoy the outdoor environment.
I used the day spa - excellent. My husband played golf - excellent.
There is nothing cheap (particularly if coming from Australia) about staying at this hotel but that said, the attention to detail, the atmosphere, the quality and range of food as well as the ability to provide a range of activities in one location made this an outstanding holiday for my family. We hope to return again.

My NEW wife and I (still getting use to saying that) were on honeymoon for 2 weeks (1 week at Paradis). Best Resort I have ever been too as the service, food, comfort and available activities to do were excellent.

The apartment rooms were excellent in size of the room (especially the bathroom), and position on the resort. This resort has more golf club carts than most on Mauritius 5* resorts in Mauritius (mainly because of the space this resort has to cover not only in Paradis, but also to Dinarobin next door - which you have full access too).

The Pros of the resort are as follows: Size (you never feel the resort is over crowded), position (being South/South/West - means its on the Leeward side of Mauritius - and never feels to windy as the South side of the Island and never gets the level of rain as the East side), Restaurants (Choice of 8 Restaurants to choose from - including the Dinarobin choices) and the activities (Free water sports are always available partly because the sea is shielded - this is important because if you want to use them (i.e. if the wind is too strong too often or sea too ruff or the booking office have too many people wanting use them at one time)).The main things that stood out for me was the Smell (aroma) as you enter the reception, the fragrant was strong and wafted through-out the shopping mall area. The restaurants (Especially the Dinarobin restaurants). You must use the Half-Board menus the have to offer (every restaurant has one (All though they don't really tell you this on your induction; if the person you are being shown the resort by, does not really know then they will only tell you of the restaurants the know you can go and use your half-board on). One of the golf carts is modified to blow smoke to rid the resort of mosquito's, and the like, the resort has numerous rats traps (not sure if they kill/capture) - so the resort does it's best to get animals away from the rooms / restaurants / bars & activity areas. Service was excellent, pulling the chair for the ladies (some times the men), stop the golf carts and asking if we want a lift, knowledge of the food and drinks for the meals, free trips to the local shopping centre (the service good).

Negatives: not really bad, just where the resort could do better. The restaurants did not have music playing - bar a one man show in the creole restaurant. I think they should incorporate some restaurants to have music (ambience - local flavour & relaxing African, international), the beach did not look as nice as the Les Pavillons (two hotels down) because they combed the beach regularly (thin the shell washed up from the sea away from the sand it's self), Paradis is not quite as couple orientated as Dinarobin (more for families - so be warned) and the Italian restaurant there was the only let down as far as the restaurants go; as the service was very, very slow, the food was tepid and the meal was suppose to be our honeymoon special meal on the beach offer (lobster and all) - but the lobster was packed into small pasta and I could hardly taste the lobster (too much garlic and seasoning). I found the Spa average and not particularly inspiring - although it does have all the main Spa requirements (again when having a massage - please include ambient music and some aroma - no aroma anywhere in the spa area, which would have set the mood much nice, but we did get a nice cup of green tea).

Room Tip: Rooms further north are generally quieter (based on how close the room is to the Kids Arena) - the g...

My Wife and I had a simply fantastic time at Le Paradis, apart from the weather which as we were reminded by several people, it was " Winter" and was a little unpredictable but when the sun was out it was very hot. The hotel staff were as attentive as usual and the room (Deluxe Beach-front) was perfect. A special mention has to be made for Mr.Santoo, Le Brabant Restaurant Manager and his team, who made every evening a special occasion for us and spoilt us thoroughly even though the hotel was at about 75% capacity. Thanks.
The sea was crystal clear blue with a host of underwater creatures that were 3m from the sand and in about 1m of water.
Fishing with Johnny in the Oyster Catcher was well worth the 1500 rupees per hour as the hour seemed to start from the first fish caught! Catching lunch one day was interesting as the Italian Chef of La Palma had to think how to prepare a 3kg Needlefish which fed us and our newly found fabulous South African friends.
Pre-dinner cocktails are a must although you may need to take out a little mortgage and booking the Half-Board Plus was a great suggestion from our travel agent as this gave us a chance to avoid the highly priced bottles of wine but hey we were on our holiday!

Our only complaint is not about the hotel but the flights, avoid BA if flying with a new crew called "Mixed Fleet" from LHR. Fly from LGW instead if you have to fly BA. They nearly ruined our holiday in both directions.

Room Tip: Fishing with Johnny, owner of the Oyster Catcher is a must and a reasonable price, right in front of...
