Having gotten married at the Shandrani the week before and our family and friends were on their way home we moved to the Dinarobin.

All I can say is WOW!

We were met and checked in immediately and shown to 'The Club' where we met Clifford who told us everything me needed to know about the hotel and offered us a drink as well. Clifford was fantastic and extremely knowledgeable.

Having had problems booking restaurants before we headed straight to the booking desk. The ladies there were very good, they asked what we wanted and said if we were happy to eat in the buffet tonight they would book up the remaining evenings for us.

We stayed in a Club Junior Suite again...Wow! we truly had booked something special. The swimming pools in the middle of each crescent are something special too.

That evening we ate in the buffet....I have to say a huge step up from the buffet at the Shandrani with live cooking stations (i.e. would you like a piece of fish....i'll just cook it for you.....fresh vegetables being cooked in pans in front of you) so everything was fresh & pipping hot. While we were there the lady who we spoke to earlier came over with an envelope which had details of all the restaurants we had been booked into for the week!!!fantastic!

The hotel had done a special evening on Easter Sunday (lots of handmade chocolate deserts and some special dishes for mains....they had really made a huge effort to make everything special).

We ate in both restaurants in the Dinarobin plus we had the pleasure of eating in the Paradis when they did a special fish buffet evening and the Blue Marlin (which was Exceptional!).

I'd also like to mention Sanjay in the beach restaurant, after the first day he remembered our room number and drinks order and was very welcoming....he always had something fresh to eat (not necessarily something on the menu) he couldn't help you enough. And the food again was so fresh & piping hot.

Every evening we sat in the mahogany bar and were made to feel very welcome too, I would like to mention Micheal & Parma in particular who were very accommodating and enjoyed talking to and learning about them, Mauritius & the hotel.

Since we got married at the Shandrani we hadn't received our photographs so Sandy organised a meeting with the photographer to drop them off, she even came to find us while we were having dinner to make sure it was all sorted out (how she know where we were and who we were...amazing).

Everyone's attention to detail at this hotel is astounding.....with the added bonus of being able to use the Paradis hotel too, it really is a beautiful hotel.

We WILL be back!!!!!
Thank you for making our stay so special.....

Room Tip: the rooms are set in 6 crescents, we stayed in room 776 which was farthest away from the reception...

We were there in April 2014. 2 adults and 2 kids (16&13) in a standard room which was big enough for a week. Friendly and competent staff. Hotel area and rooms were extremely well-kepp. I recommend to ask for a room in the 2nd floor from where you have even great see view even if you are in a building not directly to the beach. Restaurants really amazing but book in advance, best on first day. You get always free sunbeds even if the hotel is fully book. Best beach is in the northern part of the hotel. Getting to the hotel takes 1 to 1,5h on small and winding roads but no problem as it is very nice and green. Paradise hotel is the sister hotel. You can use all the facilities incl the restaurants. Snorkeling is best in the northern part of the hotel or at Paradise Hotel. You can use the free taxi service through the golf club.

The brochure didn't lie. No picture does it justice! Had an amazing holiday . Was my 50th birthday and what a place to celebrate. Cake provided by hotel and letter from manager. Indicative of the high service levels this hotel offers . The staff were friendly and efficient . Grounds were beautiful and the beach was white sand and amazing blue seas. A special mention to the staff at the bar. I feel we were very good customers! Canapés every evening to die for! We tried all the restaurants and found them to be if a high quality. Birthday treat was arranged by hotel . To swim with dolphins and then a lobster BBQ on an island for just myself and my partner was so amazing. Partner played several rounds of golf on such a beautiful course and I drove the buggy! Spa was bliss. Three different treatments and all were very good. I have no negatives to write about and wouldn't hesitate to recommend . Already thinking of return visit. Nice touch was a card waiting at home thanking us for staying!

We have just had a fantastic week in this idyllic hotel. The scenery around the peninsula is breathtaking in itself, the hotel nestles at the base of the Morne mountain. The beach to the front is white sand and they sit inside the coral reef that provides a spectacular back drop to the view. The hotel is really tastefully decorated and lit, the suites are ample in size and well equipped. Little touches make the real difference; for example you can organise candlelit scented baths with cocktails. The staff are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble and the service is excellent, very friendly and courteous. The other benefit of the resort is that you can access and use the facilities at the Paradis hotel next door which has a fabulous golf course and 4 more restaurants. (Don't miss out on the La Ravanne). The Paradis is more family orientated and a bit more hectic; Dinarobin suits couples more.

All in all a highly recommended fantastic place - try it!!

Room Tip: All face the sea - there is a fair treck to the main area in some of the higher numbers

The hotel is beautifully designed with lots of dark wood, water surfaces and great views to the turquoise sea. Rooms are very comfortable and spacious but perhaps not 5 star luxurious. Wifi in the rooms exists but is so slow that you can basically forget about it. Personnel is extremely friendly, kind and professional, absolutely no complaints. The terrain of the hotel is very widespread which is great because it never felt crowded despite being fully booked. However, distance between some bungalows and central area can be 10 minutes walking distance, which can be annoying when you forgot something in your room. However, they have little golf carts shuttling guests around and one never waits more than 2 minutes for one of them and can also call the reception from the room to be picked up. There is one gigantic pool in the central area and several smaller (approx 5x15 meters) pools nearby the bungalows, so approx 6-8 bungalows share one of these smaller pools.
The only area that would need improvement was the restaurants. There are essentially four, one central buffet restaurant, two specialised reastaurants (one Italian and one Mauritian seafood) and a beach restaurant mostly for lunches. The central buffet restaurant is not great for dinner. It is not terrible either, there is a wide range of choices to pick from but nothing tasted particlarly good. On the contrary the two specialised restaurants were very good, but always booked out. You need to reserve your dinners there as soon as you get there since they were always booked out for the next 3-4 days while we were there. You an also eat in the specialised restaurants of the sister hotel Paradis next door, we had a very good dinner at the Blue Marlin, but those were also booked out days ahead. The Italian restaurant at the Paradis was terrible, amazing that they cannot get to the same quality standard when they manage two Italian reataurants in their two adjacent sister hotels.
There are lots of options for activities, tennis courts with good and inexpensive coaches, great gym, mountainbikes, watersports, golf, beautiful spa. The conditions for kitesurfing are great particularly for beginners, however, 4 out of 10 days we had no wind. I would recommend the Mistral kitesurfschool that is stationed near the St Regis hotel. Nina Bichler and Jason were two great and patient instructors, you get better rates if you book them online ahead of your trip.
We flew from Munich via Dubai with Arab Emirates (very good!). It is a long trip and the three hour stopover in Dubai in the middle of the night is very unpleasant. Try and book a room in their airport hotel for a few hours if you have such a stopover, particularly if you travel with kids. Make sure to book the hotel within your transit terminal, the airport is gigantic and changing terminals is a hassle.
Between the Dinarobin and the Paradis I would recommend the Dinarobin since it felt quieter and less crowded. There are probably more kids and kids activities at the Paradis but they are all accessable to Dinarobin guests. The St Regis next door is more elegant and luxurious than the Dinarobin but was also more expensive when we checked. Not sure it is worth the additional money.
One worthwhile excursion is the "swimming with dolphins" boattrip that takes about 2-3 hours (30 minutes to get to the right spot, 1 hour of trying to get close to the dolphins, 30 minutes back plus some snorkeling in the lagoon). The dolphins were not particularly interested in the swimmers but did not seem bothered by them either. Beautiful to look in their natural habitat. We had a hard time keeping up with them but on other days there have supposedly been occasions when other groups of dolphins were more playful and interactive than ours.
