“Amazing stay for our honeymoon”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

We were there for almost a week for our honeymoon and absolutely enjoyed our stay over there. The hotel has some really amazing stretches of private beach. The service was top notch as well. There are a lot of activities that you can do throughout the day like kayaking, glass bottom boat trips, trips to villages, movie under the stars and most of them are offered free of charge. The service at the beach was quick. Other good things about the resort are the spa, jacuzzi and the swimming pools (amazingly located), the cafe, the beach restaurant. The only negative that i could think is that its very difficult to travel outside of the hotel after 6 pm (especially in winters) unless if you have a taxi, so dinner options are limited to the 2 restaurants at the resort (the buffet restaurant was very expensive). Surprisingly enough the food options for dinner were also very limited compared to the lunch options at the 2 restaurants. Overall an amazing property...we enjoyed our stay in the resort and would love to be back at Lux Grand Gaube soon!

We had five nights at this lovely resort, very well maintained lots of pretty gardens and birds. The staff are lovely at check-in you are given wet towels to freshen up after the journey and a fruit drink. We were shown to a very good sized room which is well laid out and our cases were delivered promptly. The bathroom is open to the bedroom but can be made private with blinds if wanted. Very nice towels and toiletries providedd. There was a cake awaiting us and also a bottle of bubbly! Fruit platters arrived throughout our stay and the minibar was regularly replenished.
All the staff are helpful but the bar and restaurant staff are particularly laidback, a 30 minute wait to get a drink served from ordering was not that unusual, so it's best to be chilled! All the restaurants serve excellent food. We celebrated our anniversary whilst there and had a special meal laid on by the pool, this was delightful the waiters made sure they took lots of photos for us and even had a surprise fruit dessert with a sparkler, candle and chocolate plaque saying 'Congratulations grahame & Mary'!
There are a couple of beaches to choose from with plenty of comfortable sunbeds. Easy access swimming and water activities available. We enjoyed the evening entertainment.
This is a great place to totally chillout.

My girlfriend and I had an amazing time here. Here are our highlights, great free spa, 4 tennis courts in great condition, lovely food, lovely friendly service from all the staff, free water sports including water skiing sailing canoeing, I think our room was cleaned about 4 times a day, the peacefulness of the location, cool touches such as a secret bar, large open air cinema to watch under the stars with popcorn, free water, very reasonable price of food and drinks, plenty of loungers on the beach, free wi-fi, I could go on and on!!

I would recommend this to anyone.

Thanks to all the team. I was so impressed I am writing this on the beach waiting for my pick up to the airport. I am going to pop in to the indoor cinema to watch the first half of the lions, another superb touch!! Thanks lux!

Amazing experience. The service was the best I can remember. From the restaurants and bars to our guy Reedoo on the beach finding us sun loungers.
We had to change rooms after the first day due to some work going on in the opposite rooms but as soon as we told the front deck, David made sure we had the best room available considering they were fully booked.
From there we had the most relaxing and comfortable stay. The food is excellent so is the drinks and coffee bar.
The little touches like the Free phone booth to call home, secret bar and messages in the bottle were great.
Highly recommend anyone to seriously look at this hotel as a wonderful holiday experience.

Room Tip: A room facing the beach is the way to go.

From the moment my husband and i arrived, we were made to feel special. Our room was large, comfortable and had a magnificent view over the lagoon and sea!
The toiletries in the room were superb with lovely aromatherapy fragrances, big fluffy white gowns and pure paradise!
one is made to feel very special by the staff and special attention is paid to all of their guests, particularly if it is a special occasion such as honeymoons, anniversaries or birthdays. it was our anniversary and the chef made a special sit down private dinner, next to the poolside to celebrate.
we have traveled extensively through the years but we were pleasantly surprised by all the special touches and the 'fun' but very classy atmosphere. 'The secret bar', 'red telephone booth', where guests can make FREE phone calls to loved ones and the 'message in a bottle' all of the little touches which make this place special. we will definitely recommend this to all our friends and would love to go back!

We have just returned from a 12 day stay at the LUX and it was fantastic. We travelled with BA from Edinburgh via Gatwick. From the moment we arrived which was 8am the staff couldn't do enough for us. Was were given hot towels and a drink whilst checking in. We were concerned that we might have a long wait till out room was ready but we were shown where to go for breakfast and when we finished we were shown to our room. We were delighted to have been upgraded to an ocean superior room which was lovely. The room was the the second furthest room in the hotel (1030) but walking through the beautiful garden was such a pleasure. Our room was the perfect spot to watch the sunset every night. The staff were great couldn't do enough for us and treated us like friends. The food was by far the best we have ever had in any hotel and they had a great choice, something for everyone. The beach Manager (the cat in the hat) made sure that we wanted for nothing leaving flowers on our lounger when we came back from breakfast. The staff in the bar were amazing having our wine topped up for us all night. Could go on and on too much to say as this hotel was indeed paradise.
