Stayed at Legends for 8 nights in November '11 (now seems to be named Lux). For half board it is one of the more accessible 5* resorts price wise on the island, and on the whole great value for money and service.

The design and layout of the hotel is really well done, and food is amazing! One thing to note is that the other restaurants at the resort, aside from main buffet, are included in the half board rate - just have to reserve a table a day or two before. There was a bit of confusion on this with hotel staff whether a supplement was to be paid - this is just for 'specials' on the restaurant menus which are clearly marked. I think they had just changed this policy, as seen some comments about it on trip advisor previously.

Water sports and tennis are also all included on half board - we met a couple who had been told by their travel agent they wern't which is the only reason they paid full board. The water sports team are great and very patient!

Only down side was one night an outdoor cinema screen was put up on the grass outside our room. When we returned from dinner there was a movie (as per the indoor cinema, being shown with terrible French dubbing) blasting out. Unfortunately being inside our room didn't do much noise abatement so phoned reception - they turned it down and said this was the first time they had tried it - I think they got a few guests pointing out wasn't the best idea!

Couple of tips - everyone make likes the Germans, and all the sunbeds have towels reserving them before breakfast - if you can't beat em, join em! As half board we made a good call to stop off at the supermarket on way to resort to pick up some beers, couple bottles spirits and some mixers and shoved them in our bags - was a good move looking at the mini bar prices!

Also the hotels there seem to have some mafia like taxi service set up - a few dedicated cars for each hotel who don't seem to mind about doing the dirty on each other. If you get a taxi from airport or another part of the island, you can probably negotiate a better price.

Overall fantastically relaxing, beautiful beaches, secluded location, amazing food and great service. Plenty of activities and entertainment put on through the week which can take or leave as you choose.

Room Tip: Ask for a good sea view - I think all the rooms probably do have a sea view, but we put in a request...

We stayed here for a week in Nov 11 and had an amazing time!

This place is worth it just for the complimentary waterskiing alone - which goes from the resorts beautiful private jetty. We did waterskiing/wakeboarding every day and the boathouse staff were great at helping us learn and improve.

We booked the half board package, which worked out to be a good deal for us, (about £170 a night) as this also includes complimentary watersports and tennis. The food was amazing, the main restaurant has a buffet style, but there are also 3 other restaurants that you can also visit on the half board package. (only need to pay a suppliment if going for the specialities, like lobster).

The drinks were a bit expensive - but we bought a load of Pheonix beers and spirits from the supermarket before we went - which probably saved us a couple of hundred quid over the week.

Also - a big recommendation - is to take your own tennis balls. As the tennis is free, but you have to pay about £10 for tennis balls if you don't have any.

The best part about this resort is the privacy, the resort is very large, with different beaches and bars/restaurants - and it seems like your are on a private island - as the beaches are completely private. (The week after we visited Le Morne where the very expensive Les Pavillions & Dinarobin are - and while these hotels are awesome, they don't have the privacy and exclusivity of this resort, as they have a public beach infront of them)

Overall - a great stay, and works out great value if you go half board and take your own beers!

Also, if the hotel management read this: Our room boy, Ritesh, was fantasitic - the room was spotless each day - and some days he laid petals on the bed and ran a petal filled bath!

i went here for my 2nd part of my honeymoon and stayed here for 7 nights we had the all inclusive deal and stayed in one of the 2 private villas.

i would really recommend going inclusive, as it can be quite expensive if your drinkers and you like to have meals and snacks

when we got there could not believe my eyes to see how amazing this place is and it looks like paradise, nice big beach, clear sea water, 5 restaurants, 3 pools, sports area, spa, bar!

we stayed in one of the villas and this was amazing the house was massive, walk in wardrobe, 2 2 showers and hot tub, sitting area, another bedroom, big garden that led to the beach, couldn't believe my luck. we also had 2 waiters that were at our call.

we tried all the restaurants which were really nice not good for anyone who is not a fan of seafood, but they had a big variety on the menu.

we took advantage of all the free excursions, and went to coco island, and on the catamaran, my husband took the tennis lessons as i didn't bring trainers, golf lesson, cooking classes, spa treatments. definatly recommend all of these this hotel was amazing!

the hotel staff are also all really friendly every where we went everyone said hello and had a big smile could not ask for anything more.

i cant wait to go back! and had the best time at this place would not change anything!

I went to Mauritius with my wife on our Honeymoon from 13th Nov 2011 to 19th Nov 2011, we stayed at the Hotel Legends on half boarding. We booked our package from D’Paul Travels (Delhi), initially we booked Grand Mauritian but due to accident in the hotel we got shifted to the Legends. I must say that Legends didn’t disappoint us; in fact we found the property to be a great one. Every staff member of the hotel was so friendly, every one greeted us with a smile each time we crossed them.
The best thing about the hotel is its location; you can see sea from each corner of the hotel. Our room was on 1st floor and it was a deluxe sea facing room. We were given beach towels and drinking water every day in our room. Hotel beaches are superb; hotel has complimentary water sports like Kayaking, Water skiing, glass bottom boat ride, snorkeling, and paddle boat.
Food in the hotel was great, they have different theme every night. There were very few options for vegetarians, but a special thanks to chef Vansh, he prepared Indian veg food for us for dinner daily and the food was amazing. The buffet breakfast was awesome with wide variety of food.
Every night the hotel has a different entertainment program like Sega Dance, Bollywood night. They also offer complimentary Wi-Fi. Hotel has various activities happening like excursion to nearby village, yoga etc. Hotel also has a private theatre; we watched a Bollywood movie there, we were served with popcorn too 
We also made use of Spa & Jacuzzi facility; it was very nice experience. They use the most wonderful essential oils for massages.
As a part of Honeymoon package, we received a bottle of sparkling wine, T-shirt, Sarong, a romantic dinner at the poolside and a floral decoration in our room as complimentary gift.
Special thanks to Anjalee, Stelly, Chef Vansh and all other staff for making our holidays so special.
Hotel Legend made our holidays Legendary!!! It’s such a beautiful place.
If we go to Mauritius again, then for sure we are going to stay at the Legends.

We had great expectations, but sorry to say, got quite disappointed.

Arrived late after having travelled 12 hrs.
We were met by a very charming lady in green.
Thank God, I had saved all my email correspondance from the Naide booking.
She didn't know what our "All included" included.

We were shown to our room and were told we could freshen up and then come to have dinner.
In the shower, the handle fell off, so it was difficult to regulate the temperature.

When arriving at the restaurant, we were told it closed in 5 min.
So we could go up and fill a plate.
Sad leftovers was shown to us....barely a spoonfull of different dishes.
The restaurant is not to blame, the manager should have known it would close....had we showed up 5 min. later, we would have had NO dinner at all.

The next disappointment came when we were going to sleep.
The airconditioner didn't work properly.....but we were so tired, so decided we would comment on it in the morning.....so we informed the reception about the handle in the shower and the aircon.

The BIGGEST disappointment was finding out that the sea bottom was spongy and very weird.
The water doesn't circulate enough to provide fresh sea water, so it's not very nice to walk out.
SNORKLING which was our main reason for coming, was not an option....only sea weeds....

The Legends buildings fit in nicely to what we would expect...thatched roofs, palmtrees and lots of beach beds. Lots of smiling staff, but many had a tendency to look straight ahead when trying to get their attention. On the other hand, when you didn't need them, they would come around !!

As for getting our room fixed, it took two nights and two times going to reception to comment on the aircon and the handle....
This is unheard of at a 4 Star Hotel with high prices.

All included, showed to be NOT All included.
If you didn't go to their main restaurant with buffet, you could not choose from all a la carte dishes unless you payed extra..... A bit strange...

As for the buffets, even though different themes, seemed very much alike.

One great surprise, was the fact that we one afternoon discovered that there were NO dishes in the buffet that we would appreciate.....and if you wanted to eat at the others, you should have made reservations in the morning, so I asked the receptionist what to do, and I was asked what we would like for dinner....
A steak....she arranged for us to get that in the buffet restaurant. Very nice move.
Unfortunately the steak was not very good.

I find NO happiness in writing this review, I would have prefered being able to write go for it.

Wow, what a wonderful place. We were upgraded 2 weeks before we travelled and weren't sure what we might get. It is paradise and the beach is idyllic. The seaweed can be a bit irritating, but the water is warm and the views are super. Our room was a basic one, but it had everything and we loved the balcony. Staff were very attentive especially Ashwin who made us laugh and looked after us so well. Just get up early to get a sunbed by the sea as everyone else will be there before 9.00am. Would love to return and recommend fully inclusive as drinks can be expensive. Nevertheless it was a holiday to remember!

Room Tip: Go for a room on the frist floor so you have a balcony

I travelled with my mother and niece and were booked into Legends for a week. The staff especially Stelly (Guest Relantions ) was exceptional, her patience and kindness never ceased. She attended to all our needs (rooms next to each other with a sea view - even though the hotel was fully booked - she managed to shuffle us around until we were satisfied). The front office manager (sadeep, i think his name was) was totally exceptional as well, he arranged a private transfer to Beau Rivage (where we spent another four days).
The service and ALL the staff at this hotel was amazing.
It's not the largest hotel in the Naida group, but definately the one with the best service.
The food was outstanding and everynight was a different theme - so a wide variety of food to satisfy all palettes. Franscesa one of the chefs really stood out and was super amazing with her friendly manner and bubbly personality.
We made use of the spa - WOW !!!! Firstly the reception was so friendly and helpful, the massage (muscle reliever) was out of this world. They use the most wonderful essential oils.
The hotel is based on feng shui - and this really makes a difference.
they offer yoga too - which was really awesome - becuase you do it in a zen garden that overlooks the sea - it changes the whole meaning of meditation listening to the ocean and sitting between palm trees with friendly little lizards on volcanic rocks !
The beach was perfect ! It wasn't very big, the loungers were spaced out well with enough space between you and the next person, offering a bit of space, they have three beaches to choose from. All on a bay. They do not have long straight beaches. But it was perfect for us, we could lie on the beach, tan, swim, waterski, paddle, snorkel, and do glass bottom boat trips at no extra charge.
The gardens are beautiful.
They also have a cinema - which we did not make use of.
Because of the location (in the North) the weather was great , a few degrees higher than the east. Less windy and great diving spots.
Made use of the diving facilities - they were a great bunch. Very helpful and accommodating.
Saw amazing coral and fish : )
This hotel was the PERFECT hotel in Mauritius - Service / Food/Location/Friendliness.

Room Tip: The main block is central and close to the beach.
